The groomer arrived on time and was welcomed by our pet. She was able to establish a positive rapport with the pet and the grooming session went well. Our overall satisfaction with this service was "well satisfied". We would invite this vendor back to provide other services for this pet and other pets in the family.

I am very satisfied with the training I received from Danielle. I needed help with walking my large breed dog, and she taught me how to walk her in a confident and effective manner. She taught me how to use a type of leash called a Gentle Leader. I had to work with my dog (still working) every day using the leash, beginning at a few minutes, and then progressing to a longer amount of time. Merribelle is coming along well. Danielle is very personable and positive. She makes you feel comfortable and treats you and your dog with respect. She has confidence in your ability to be successful, and does not treat you like you did something wrong. She teaches you the methods you need. I highly recommend her to anyone needing help with their dog. She is also professional. She comes to an appointment on time and stays the duration.

I was very satisfied with Meghan as a dog sitter. She seemed to really enjoy my dog so I know he was happy. Also, we had a big snow storm and she had to dig out, but we were in contact with her via text and email and didn't have to worry about our house or pooch, despite 10 inches of snow at the house.

Chris is an awesome pet sitter. If you’re an overprotective dog mom like myself, you want someone responsible you can trust to treat them just like you would. She is prompt and pays attention to any detailed instructions I leave her. She sincerely cares about my dogs when she feeds them, takes them out, talks to them, hugs/kisses them, and sends me pictures of each visit. So, when I travel, I stress less knowing my furry babies are in good hands. I would recommend her services to anyone needing pet care!

Lindsay was wonderful to work with! I took two training classes with her and she really helped work with what your pet needed most, even when it came to scheduling! She always used positive reinforcement and my dog who was previously afraid of petco, found his new favorite place! She was always willing to give advice on any sort of dog owner questions I had. I'd recommend her in a heartbeat!

I hired Dognanny to look after my 2 cats while I was away camping for a long weekend and am not disappointed! One of my cats required medication multiple times a day, and I felt 100% comfortable leaving them in the care of Dognanny! Kristen works as a vet tech so I knew I could count on her to do the not-so-fun job of giving a cat meds! I came home to a couple of happy cats! I'll be sure to give Dognanny a call next time my pets need some looking after.

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

        • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
        • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
          • 45-minute visit: $28.
          • 60-minute visit: $32.
        • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
        • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
          • 12 hours: $100.
          • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
