Introduction: Since graduating from Cornell University in 2011, I have grown my self-employed tutoring into a full-time endeavor. Working with 50+ students each school year, I'm very familiar with the math & science subjects. Sessions are tailored to each student's academic abilities and goals. I provide many example problems throughout our sessions to assess whether the student truly understands the material. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm and passion for math & science with students. Many students I work with come back for tutoring year after year and refer their classmates as well. Seeing students who initially struggle with schoolwork become successful and gain confidence is my favorite part of tutoring. It's great to see students become excited about the material they are learning. *Since COVID-19, I offer online tutoring through Zoom. On Zoom the student and I can share a white board to solve questions step by step. Zoom allows for screen-sharing, so I can view the student's online assignments along with him/her.

Our experience with Sarah has been fantastic! Sarah tutored my son in science and math and his average increased by at least ten points in each subject. In this year, his junior year of high school, my son averaged 95% for the year in his math course. Sarah is always well prepared, offers her own additional resources if she has them and suggests resources and where to obtain them on our own. She is always pleasant and upbeat and my son enjoys having her as his tutor. I would highly recommend Sarah as a tutor.

Sarah was great. Worked with my and my time schedule, and was always on time. If I ever felt dumb for not knowing something, she would reassure me that it was ok, which made me feel more at ease. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for math & science with students. I help students to understand complex material by breaking it down into simple terms. I provide many example problems throughout our sessions to assess whether the student truly understands the material. I encourage students to ask questions throughout our meetings.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Earned my B.S. in Human Biology, Health & Society from Cornell University. I have been tutoring math & science since 2007. Currently, I tutor full time, working with 50+ students each school year. I'm very familiar with math & science subjects, so I do not require students to submit topics and questions ahead of our sessions.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began tutoring my senior year of high school (2007), when I tutored several of my classmates in math. I learned I enjoy tutoring and am skillful at breaking down the material into steps that can be easily understood. After graduating Cornell University in 2011, I built my tutoring into a full-time business.
