Make sure the company you hire is reputable. Contact the BBB or BCB. Does the company carry the proper insurances, i.e., liability, workers comp, etc.? If the company requests payment in advance, look elsewhere. You should pay upon completion of job and only when you are satisfied. Receive a written contract with the scope of job clearly stated. Hire locally and trust your instincts.
