FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We discuss what they are interested in working on. We do warm-up excerercizes, and continue to build on them depending on what type of dance or movement the customer is interested in pursuing. The level is determined as we work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching dance ever since I was a young adult. I danced and taught first with Downtown Ballet Company, a modern/ballet company in the 70s in NY, I then danced and taught with Ameridance International a jazz dance company and school in Munich and in Graz Austria. In the US I danced with the Isadora Duncan Commemorative company in 1979-81 and continued to be a soloist with many Duncan companies since. I also danced with Andrew Jannetti and Dancers, a NYC based modern dance company, for a decade. I founded my own school in 1988 and founded my company in 1990 which became a non-profit in 2011. I taught in the NYC public school system for seven years and was a teaching artist with Tilles Center for a decade. I also worked with many other organizations as a teaching artist. Training included HS of Performing Arts, and scholarships at Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Clark Center, Harkness House and National Academy of Ballet.
