Latest Review: I worked with Kyle after a serious high ankle sprain that I suffered in a basketball league. The injury had come at a very bad time, as I had just begun training for a marathon as well. I wanted to get back on the basketball court and back to running as soon as possible.
Kyle was great because he started by just listening. He listened to how I had gotten hurt and he asked what my goals were, first over the next few months, and second, over the long-term. This was the first thing that stood out to me about Kyle, how well he listened and catered the training to what I needed. Then we got to work.
Kyle put me to work on a number of great exercises, always explaining why we needed to strengthen which muscles in the legs and core, and how that strength training would prevent future injuries to ankles and knees. Not only did he offer excellent reasoning for why these exercises were important, but he also made sure to correct my form immediately if it wasn't right. Kyle doesn't let you develop bad habits; he tells you what you need to adjust right away, and he always does it in a helpful, friendly manner. He even tells you why you need to change your form, and warns you of possible consequences or injuries if you do things the wrong way. This constant education that he provides while you're working out is really valuable.
My last session with Kyle was an hour long workout and I have to say, very challenging but rewarding. This was at my gym in Syracuse, NY, and it was right before Kyle left for Arizona. He may have moved away, but he made sure to leave me with an excellent plan to continue legs/core strength training. I followed his instructions and ran a great second marathon, with many other successful races along the way. I highly recommend him to anyone that is looking to get more out of their training.
