I've been a professional writer and editor for over 10 years with training in professional theater (BA in drama from Davidson College). This unconventional background gives me a rare edge as a writer/editor because it has shaped me into a highly skilled storyteller. I am a master at creating and keeping a captive audience, whether all eyes are on a stage or a page. This is my writing/editing experience in a nutshell. I have been published in multiple national magazines. I co-wrote a screenplay that is currently under an option agreement with a film production company. As a communications consultant, I've revamped and improved the content and delivery of pitches, speeches, and presentations for individuals in a variety of start-up businesses, gaining more investors and support for many CEOs. I've assisted many brands in the writing and/or editing of newsletters, blog posts, and brand stories. To boot, working as a tutor and as a transcriber has honed a superior understanding of English grammar and punctuation (let it be known that nothing steams my clams like the omission of an Oxford comma). Not only am I head-over-heels smitten with the written word, but I'm also a veritable people-person, people-pleaser, and people-watcher (as a writer, not a stalker!).
