Test Prep Services
I am very glad to have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Fikar. In just a few short months we were able to make a lot of progress with my standardized testing scores. I went from a 1390 PSAT with no tutoring to a 1550 SAT and a 1500 PSAT. I also earned a 35.25 on my ACT. His high price is well worth it as I know I would not have received the same quality of tutoring anywhere else. I feel much more comfortable testing now than I did before, and feel confident that I will also score well on my Math 2 SAT2 and that my ACT score will improve with more instruction. I also look forward to working with him during my application process, as his knowledge of it is more extensive than any other counselor I've spoken to. Dr. Fikar is unlike any other tutor and I am happy to continue to be his student.Nov 28, 2017Verified

Dr Fikar was of invaluable assistance to my daughter and improved her overall score by almost 100 points in only 6 weeks of tutoring. His most signigicant impact was in improving her confidence in approaching difficult math problems. Dr Fikar was so encouraging and gave her so much inside knowledge about the test and the college application process generally. He really made her feel like she had a dedicated, personal professional coach With her throughout the whole fall of senior year. He transformed what was a scary overwhelming process into something of a game that she was inspired to master and win. In addition, I recall her remarking in surprise after only her second tutoring session that it would also help her do better in her AP Calculus course at school, as Dr Fikar was better at explaining math than her own teacher. We are so happy to have found Dr Fikar and plan to enlist his services for our two younger daughters in the coming years. We enthusiastically give him the highest possible rating!Dec 6, 2016VerifiedThe Harvard Review's reply
Thank you very much Mrs. Haverstick, Emily was a delight to work with, and I wish her all the best in her future! I look forward to meeting your younger children! Cordially yours, Dr. M. Fikar
I could not say enough good things about Dr. Fikar. He is the reason, for the first time in my entire life, I did well on a standardized test. I had used other large test prep companies to prep for the GMAT and none of them could help me beat a 650 until. Dr. Fikar's knowledge of the test and study materials are unparalleled. I could not highly recommend someone more. Thank you for everything Dr. Fikar!May 12, 2017VerifiedThe Harvard Review's reply
Devon, Thank you for your kind words. You are a talented young lady, and I wish you all the best as you apply to MBA Programs!
We have recently hired Dr. Fikar and Harvard Review as SAT/ACT tutors for my son. Thus far they have been prompt and very professional. Dr. Fikar is a great motivator and seems to have invaluable knowledge of the test and how to get great results. We are at the start of our training but we already feel that we have made a great choice. He is fast to reply and easy to work with. And most importantly, my son if fired up to do well.Sep 12, 2016Verified
Extremely rude. After declining his offer, he sent me this: '3 years of Law School costs 300,000, suggest you make a wise decision about LSAT Prep.'' Horrible. I also called customer support and filed a complaint.Feb 3, 2016VerifiedThe Harvard Review's reply
If you read what I said, there is nothing rude OR unprofessional about it. It is a simple fact that the LSAT is a very important test, and one must make a wise decision about their prep. Please note that this person was NEVER my student, and therefore should not even be allowed to write a fallacious review.
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Dr. Fikar charges a flat hourly rate, and typically does not give discounts of any kind.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My continuing education is to continue to take the Exams that I offer Tutoring for, and to continue to study and write books. There is no finer education than to master these extremely challenging tests.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I was a Physicist who enjoyed my work. However, while being a Professor at a University, I began taking the SAT and all of the other Standardized Tests every year and getting perfect scores, mostly for fun. I was also tutoring part time, and started to see how much fun it was to work one-on-one with students and help them achieve massive increases. So in 1995 I opened my first Learning Center and quit my day job, and the rest is history. I have written several Test Prep books, continue to take the Tests and score perfectly, and have watched hundreds of students achieve their highest scores possible. What could be more rewarding than that?
