So far we’ve had a handful of singing lessons and my daughter loves the teacher.

My daughter has been taking voice lessons with Mary over Skype for the past six months. She had previously been taking in-person lessons at a local music school but she felt she wasn't improving as much as she wanted to. I was skeptical about how well lessons over Skype would work, but after watching my daughter perform the lead in Bye Bye Birdie a few weeks ago, I am no longer skeptical. The difference in her voice from her last musical was notable. She has always had raw talent and a good voice, but her performance in Bye Bye Birdie was at a different level. The maturity and quality of her voice really set her apart and I am excited to see what she does next. I would never have thought that lessons over Skype could be as effective as (or more effective than!) lessons in person, but Mary has clearly proven that it is the teacher that matters, not the medium. I highly recommend her!

I tried acting for the first time with Gregory. I had no experience. Gregory met with me one-on-one to explain the method he teaches. I couldn't wait to start. It's been 10 classes since then, and I'm hooked! Gregory is a fantastic teacher. He is intuitive and knows how to help you reach your potential. He creates a safe space to explore and experience acting. His teachings resonate both in and out of the classroom. He facilitates a professional learning environment that is positive, supportive, and fun!

Ms. Ortiz is extraordinary; her insight and knowledge of the acting and entertainment industry are invaluable. She is generous, nurturing, profoundly perceptive, and very creative in her approach. I have had the great honor of working with Ms. Ortiz as my acting coach/teacher, and have had the opportunity to see her in action as a Casting Director and Producer. I highly recommend her as a coach to actors of all levels, as well as to any companies/individuals looking for a top-notch Casting Director or Producer for their project.

I have been so blessed to have met Crystal. I can say confidently that she is by far the best acting teacher I have ever had. The way she constructs her words to assist you in enhancing your work is impeccable. Every time we have worked together I have left feeling very clear and accomplished about every detail in my work. Since I started working with her I have been consistently booking. Crystal has also helped me book modeling gigs. She has a special eye for producing the very best idea in anything that we work on together. I recommend her to every actor and model I meet.

Shannon is a very gifted acting coach. She helped me book and AMC show from a self-tape, an episode of a half-hour comedy on TV Land and to get a call back to a producer session for a guest starring role on CBS. She gives individual attention and has never coached me by rote. She truly works with the actor in front of her. In the many times I’ve gone to her, she’s taken her time, worked with me until I felt comfortable and confident, and by the end, made it all feel so simple and clear that once I walked through the audition room door I was at ease in my talent, my moment-to-moment work, and the story that the writers needed to see to know that I could do the job. She, quite naturally, helped me to get to the point where I could just bring myself without the worry of what to do or not to do. She also served as my vocal coach on the most recent production I directed and was able to guide the cast to decisions and choices that they were struggling with, creating a decisive and clear line of action with each actor. She works well with individuals and groups. I’d gladly recommend her to any actor with a big audition coming up or to any actor just looking to develop their on-camera acting skill. -Carter Gill

I have worked with Katie on several occasions as part of a vocal ensemble. She is both incredibly talented as a singer and choral leader. She has impeccable sight-singing skills, and her ability to go from classical to Broadway to pop/rock/folk music is seamless. A real pro!

Danaya and I taught middle and high schooler's a fifty minute session on the elements of poetry. We focused on methods of self-expression, the importance of imagery and connecting the art of written word to the theater. She is an excellent teacher, and really connects with her students. She gives quality one on one time, and instills hope and the importance of good work ethic in all of her pupils, and I am happy to have worked with her. As a graduate of The Juilliard School, she is well versed and highly trained to accommodate your audition material needs, private coaching, and any advice you may need to further your theatrical education.

Beverly makes me feel comfortable about singing again and is helping me replace old, bad habits with new exercises to help rebuild my technique as wells my self- confidence. Singing is FUN again! She is very kind, patient and very knowledgeable! She has helped me tremendously, as well, with my acting and interpretation, as well as my diction and writing out IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet). I highly recommend Ms O'Regan Thiele!! Jeremy taught me so much about how to be an effective public speaker and interview candidate. I have worked with him for two years now and have been able to use the techniques Jeremy gave me in several places and feel so much more confident about what I’m doing! I used to be totally terrified about getting up in front of groups to speak, but Jeremy gave me specific things to do before, during and after and it’s so much easier. Also, some of the acting exercises we worked on are really fun and I can do them in my daily life to improve my diction and communication skills. Such a great value and I feel he tailored his work to exactly what I needed. I still work with him when I need a brush up or when I’m prepping for something important.

I went to Josh to prepare for an audition which required two contrasting monologues. Josh was helpful to adapt the text so I could focus on the key aspects of each script. Josh provided genuine feedback and I enjoyed his bluntness. He is very easy to work with and I highly recommend him.

Amy is one of the best acting coaches I have ever met and worked with. Her work is very personal and deep. She has amazing knowledge and technique but that's not it. She is sensitive and knows how to get the best out of each actor. In a different and personal way. In additon, she creates a safe and warm environment that helped me outreach my limits and discover more about myself and my abilities. She is the kind of teacher that will spend the night thinking and working on how to help you on a specific scene or big challenge. The only thing that could be better: well I wish Amy would live in the same city as me as I don't have the opportunity to see her as much as I used to. And I miss this talented coach.

About

Kaitlyn offers quality voice lessons for young singers and singing actors looking to further their technique. Kaitlyn has experience in classical singing, musical theatre, acting for film, and a wide range of knowledge and advice to help any student hone his/her skills and find his/her edge in the performing industry. An NYS certified K-12 music teacher, she is currently pursuing her master's degree in opera performance while teaching privately.

About

I have a lot more passion for music than others, which I try to inspire in my students in the way I was inspired by my teachers. I'm also very committed to music and I work hard and care for each individual student.

About

Am I good at teaching voice? No. I'm really good at teaching voice. Do you think you're tone deaf? Sure, I'll get you singing karaoke in no time, but if you're pretty good and need some serious technical training. That's my thing. I have degrees from three conservatories (Eastman, Moores, and San Francisco) and teach singing the way it has been taught for hundreds of years, but I use modern technology to augment success and bring fast results. One thing though, I'll only work with serious and committed students. You don't have to be a professional, but I will only work with singers who take it seriously and want improvement.

About

I am a classically trained singer and actress based in NYC with my Master’s in Vocal Performance from a Juilliard trained former Metropolitan opera star at the University of Kansas. I love teaching the love of singing and helping guide people to find their unique sound and showing them their singing technique so they can use their true and natural voice.
