Introduction: At Embracing Self our mission is to empower and support couples who want to communicate better, let go of past resentments and forge a new way of relating. We help our clients facing relationship conflicts, infidelity, communication difficulties and a host of other issues. When it comes to relationships we provide the necessary tools for communication and healing so that love can be renewed. We provide a safe space for couples to gain a deeper understanding and respect for their partners. We believe that with trust and forgiveness couples can move forward. We use the Enneagram personality assessment tool for mapping out personality profiles that impact communication styles and impede conflict resolution. We also work with those experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief. We do life coaching and counseling who need to achieve certain goals. We do not take insurance.

Janet and Lisa are the best relationship/marriage counselors I could have ever asked for. They make it a point to stay very neutral and listen to each persons individual wants, needs, and views, in order to help find the possible disconnect in communication within the relationship. They’ve opened my mind up to different perceptions I could not have found without them. They not only help the relationship, but help me and my husband each recognize and work on our own issues to make the relationship stronger as a whole. They’ve boosted and raised my confidence more than they even know. They’re the furthest thing from boring and have the best personalities which make opening up and being vulnerable with them so much easier. They’re so easy to talk to and I look forward to sessions with them every week. Not only are they just amazing, but they truly and genuinely care. In the beginning, they provided a free consultation where one thing we talked about was the price. They work with you to find a price that works for both parties which is something I’ve never had before. They genuinely want happiness for their clients and are all around great therapists. I will always recommend Janet and Lisa to anyone and everyone. You will NOT regret hiring them.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly fee for relationship coaching and counseling is flexible based on your budget. Each case is different and we base the pricing on the level of complexity. We do offer discounts and sliding scale.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For relationship coaching and counseling we provide a deep look into what is causing conflict as well as arguments. We start with why is there past hurts or lack of trust. We help couples develop better communication by looking at personality models. There are many tools we use with helping those get to a better place in their relationship.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Janet has an MSW and 20 years of counseling experience. Lisa has a BA in Philosophy and Economics, MBA in Finance and Certifications in Career Counseling and Health Coaching. Extensive training in personality typology including Enneagram and MBTI. Experience with inner child bonding to heal trauma, depression and anxiety. Cognitive behavioral experience training for anxiety.
