My husband and I used RJC Studios for our wedding DJ/MC, lighting, and photobooth. During the planning process, Robert was both extremely professional but also fun and easy to talk to. He had lots of print-outs with general wedding planning advice which really shows that he cares about his clients and he got really excited about my lighting ideas which made ME really excited! Everything was flawless on my wedding day (10/22/2016). We had to do the ceremony inside due to rain, but the mic was perfect and there was no audio feedback or problems. The cocktail hour music played exactly as I wanted it to and at a perfect volume. The main banquet room looked GORGEOUS and I am forever grateful for Robert for creating the starry night/galaxy ceiling that I had wanted so badly. It was SO cool, everyone loved it, and I can't wait to see the photos! The actual DJ/MC portion went perfectly as well, the music was always on-point and exactly what we wanted. For our first dance, we wanted one or two lines from the song "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters to be ... magically "erased". I don't know what to call it, but he knew exactly what I meant and just magically took it out. It made the song even more beautiful and I really appreciated how willing he was to do anything we needed. Craig the MC was incredibly friendly, helpful, and funny. I thought I would have to coordinate things like the order of people for reception introductions, but he came out and did it for me. Really nice having him there and his MC'ing was great, he even made some small announcements when asked to alert people to some of the extra little activities we had. The photobooth was also the highest quality one I've ever been in. The lighting was very flattering (trust me, very important) and they could print several strips so everyone was sure to get one. Robert showed me how we could use a green-screen and give our guests two options-- one with a galaxy background for normal people and one with Star Wars backgrounds for the nerds in our lives (our theme was space/galaxy so we wanted to have some nerdy elements in the details). Let me tell you, I am so thankful he gave me that choice because people had a total blast with it!! The staff gave us the photobooth-guestbook the night-of, a black high-quality album that we got to look at the next morning over coffee. Absolutely money well-spent. The photobooth operator ladies were also super polite and fun and were very tolerant of our crazy loud and drunk guests. I appreciate that. :) Overall, I have 0 negative things to say about RJC Studios. The price was right within our budget and they deserve much more. I am so grateful that Robert came to me through thumbtack because he helped make the best night of my life beautiful and fun and made the process stress-free. Thank you for everything, Robert!

David recorded a cover song for me which had some changes to the melody. It was my first time recording a song. I was nervous and completely unfamiliar with the process. I also needed him to play the music for me and do all the editing and mixing. (Frankly, I wasn't even aware of those terms or what they meant.) David was amazingly helpful and patient. He worked with me and explained the process. He asked questions to guide the development of the song. He figured out the timing of the song, quickly learned the melody and chords for the song, some of which were completely original, and invented a few of his own note sequences on the spot. We recorded the entire song in 6 hours and David had the final product ready for me two days later. I am so pleased. David made me feel at ease, was professional, really knowledgeable, and kind. I highly recommend.

Working with Vince was awesome! It was my first time in a studio recording for my podcast and he made me and my host feel comfortable. The audio is truly A1, and Vince really cares about your project coming out right. I will definitely be back.

The first time I used Simcha's basement I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I spoke to the owner/engineer over the phone to schedule my session a couple days prior. She seemed very nice over the phone. When I arrived,I was treated with same respect that i received over the phone. The equipment at the studio is of the highest quality. The engineer is super nice and easy to work with; she is extremely knowledgeable. My band and I will continue to use this studio for our future recording needs. I highly recommend Simcha's Basement for anyone, or any band who's looking for high quality audio engineering at a reasonable price.

Recently I was creating an opening number for a dance competition and I was having problems finding someone to do a really good mix of the music. I was able to communicate with Merc really well, and he gave me exactly what I needed. It sounded so great, I had him do another number for me. And incidentally, out of 20 numbers his mixes were some of the best. Ill go to Merc for all my audio needs from now on.

Oldy did a party for me for my birthday in November and maintained a lively and fun energy the entire night. I am so grateful I picked him and will most definitely keep calling him to do my events. He also did the video for my party as well and that came out awesome. Definitely recommend him.

My name is Silence, and I specialize in audio engineering and music production, with credits ranging from 50 Cent, Fabolous, Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Maino, etc. I've also ventured into event photography and music video production.

About

As someone who was raised on blues and classic rock music, I try to take a very musical and feel-based approach to every project that I work on. Every project is different and every artist has different methods they like to work by. When tracking, I try to find out the band/ artist is most comfortable performing and adapt a recording set-up to those conditions as much as possible while still maintaining the highest sonic standard possible. When mixing, I really try to get in to the idea behind a track and improve the ideas that are already in place. Growing up around a lot of classic rock and live music, I know that so much of the sound is dependent on the players/ artist and how they perform. I try to bring out the best of that in the studio.
