Erika Ewing is the real deal. Her attention to detail and specificity in terms of beat work, acting choices and analyzing text is nonpareil. But not only is she one of the most technically gifted and detail-oriented preceptors in the acting world; she is also one of the most truly creative and artistic souls that I have ever gotten the chance to work with. I wholeheartedly recommend Erika to anyone who is willing to grow leaps and bounds as an actor and artist.

I worked as an actor-teacher under Erika's direction for a little over three years. During that time, Erika pushed me to find characters and give voice to them. Her insistence on whole characters ensured that even the most ridiculous choices became genuine to the character, rather than caricatures or archetypes we've all seen before. Under her guidance, I have grown tremendously as an actor and am far more comfortable taking on new personalities on the stage.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

What I do for many of my acting students is listen and take a close assessment of the student’s skills and goals for their personal growth and attainment. Together we outline a path to achieve those goals. The sessions are designed for the actor to work slowly to learn how to distinguish themselves from the characters. Fine tuning the actors senses is an integral part of the work I do with my students.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

I am looking for students who are passionate about learning and sharpening the craft of acting. In my sessions there is no judgment. I will meet you where you are and take you to where you want to be. Come open and trusting in your own power and that you already have everything you need to become what you believe!
