I hired Scott for my parents joint 60th Birthday party on March 4, 2017. Scott and fellow band members were a class act! Absolutely amazing, is an understatement! Would and will hire again!Mar 7, 2017Verified
We hired Scott to play the piano during our wedding ceremony and transition to Dj'ing as the party started to get underway. Scott did an amazing job at both! I had asked him to learn a specific song to walk down the aisle and it was done beautifully. When it was time to transition to DJing, without skipping a beat, Scott managed to even have my more introverted family members on the dance floor! He also did a great job of monitoring time to make sure the evening stayed on schedule. I would absolutely hire Scott for another event.May 23, 2019Verified
Working with Scott was super easy! I had different options and he made me feel very at ease in my selection. I wanted to hire a solo violinist or cellist for my cousin’s 15 person wedding, because I knew she didn’t have music. Well, she and her husband loved it! She said her day was perfect and this gift was the cherry on top! I went with a cellist, Nick, whom Scott selected, and he was great! He played beautifully! He even arrived early! He was unobtrusive and his music flowed seamlessly over the next few hours. Truly a wonderful choice!Aug 6, 2019Verified
Scott has been a greater communicator. He and his team fulfilled all our wedding song requests (even one request made 2 days before the event)! The music is beautiful, despite almost 100 degree in an outdoor wedding. Musicians are professional and nice to talk to. We are really happy that we hired Scott and his team, and would do so again!Jul 22, 2019Verified
Scott and his band were absolutely perfect, everyone loved the music and complimented us on choosing a different style from "normal" weddings. We had so much fun dancing. I cant say enough good things about Scott, his band, and their music.Oct 2, 2018Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My objectives are simple: - Make sure we are a good musical fit for the client - Find an ensemble that fits the client's budget - Pay the musicians that are working for me at a rate that reflects the level of professionalism that I expect from them Because of my large musical network of professionals - I typically will have a number of different options for a request. These will include different size groups at different prices. This allows me the flexibility to find a group that fits my client's musical preferences at a price that fits their budget. I will not always be the lowest bidder. I respect the professionals I work with enough to pay them well for what they are able to do. In return, I have a wide network of the top professionals in the area who enjoy playing for my clients!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The most important thing for me, is to make sure the client trusts that the music we provide will be perfect for their vision of the event - and that we'll perform in the most professional manner from the moment we arrive. Once we've reached that comfort level, the rest falls into place easily. We discuss the event - how the client wants it to look, to sound, to feel - and come up with the best musical group that fits their vision and their budget. We then put the details in a written agreement - typically with a small deposit that secures the date in our schedule.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?In terms of education, I have a bachelor's degree in music education (as a classical saxophonist) and a master's degree in jazz arranging (as a pianist). I'm a member of a number of organizations for music professionals and music educators. I've been selected to present clinics to my professional colleagues at national conferences almost annually. In terms of experience, I have been professionally leading all types of ensembles for over 20 years - from small ensembles up through full big bands. That translates to a comfort level on all kinds of events - from intimate performances for small audiences, to large-scale events at performing arts centers and stadiums, as well as radio and television broadcasts. My process is professional and organized, as I typically manage over 100 events with 45-60 musicians per year.
