Mike is awesome! A really good teacher and a very talented musician. He made me feel really comfortable and gave me a bunch of great fundamental skills.
Our guests raved about our ceremony music! Our guitar and violin musicians played beautifully together. Tara was excellent to work with leading up to the big day and was extremely responsive to all of my questions and requests. We are so happy with everything! I can't wait to get our ceremony video from our videographer so that I can enjoy what our guests were able to experience while waiting for the bride to arrive:) Thank you, Sweet Harmony, for your professionalism and for adding such beauty to our special day!
Mr. Salinas provided our event with elegant, soothing piano music which helped the evening run smoothly and for our fundraiser to meet its financial goals!
We hired the company for my 21st Birthday. We chose to add on the photo booth and it was a great hit, even having a flash drive issued to me of all the photos that were taken that night. When we were exchanging information initially, I didn’t realize that we were not talking to the DJ who would be working the event. In turn the DJ that arrived was a little unprepared as apparently he was not given our music genres and we had to assist him the entire night. Aside from the miscommunications, very easy to negotiate with and a payment plan was setup without any doubts.
I briefly took guitar lessons from Josh. I wanted to learn to play with other musicians and improvise, and his jazz background is what caught my attention. The sessions were informative and Josh was very encouraging. I had to stop unexpectedly but what I learned in the few lessons I took was very helpful and got me out of the rut I fall into while practicing on my own.
I took lessons from Jimi for string bass and later for guitar. Through his lessons, I learned how to do more than just read notes on a page. I learned the other important skills of improvising and jamming with others. If I ever had a problem, Jimi would notice and help me work through it. I'm now able to jam out to jazz music on bass and guitar, and it's all thanks to Jimi.
Sean and his band provided ideal lively jazz music at a local event. They were super easy to communicate with beforehand, and they played beautifully to a large very appreciative crowd. I strongly recommend them.
Francis is nice and he is good at the piano. It surprised me to see a pianist with experiences and repertoires on both classical and jazz.
Drew is an exceptional musician and teacher. He is adapt at making abstract musical concepts concise and easy to understand. Drew also has a way of making challenging techniques feel less intimidating. Anyone who can make barre chords feel comfortable for a student is an excellent teacher!
Matthew is very professional musician. He took a lot of time to assist me preparing a very special song list for my husband's birthday dinner party. My family really enjoyed themselves especially because of his soulful sounds from playing the saxophone. He was mesmerizing. And, we're going to invite him back in the near future. Thanks, Matthew!
I've known Kevin for over ten years as a friend, a guitar teacher and a musician. He has an outstanding music knowledge base when it comes to theory, harmony, and composition. I studied with him for about three years and rate him as a teacher at the top of the list. He is very patient, and simpatico! He knows how to break things down so they can be easily grasped, and used. I am primarily interested in using the guitar as compositional instrument. Kevin has helped me find the most suitable arrangements and chord voicings for my work. Just recently I asked him to perform and record one of my songs, composed for my sweethearts birthday. I was very pleased with his interpretation of the piece, and my partner was enchanted. In conclusion, I highly recommend Kevin as a consomate professional, an excellent musician, and one great guy.
My experience with Yuto, I could say, was life-changing. The amount of not only knowledge, but really feeling of what Jazz and music in general can be, was endless. Yuto treats you as a real friend, and his lessons are both very practical, but also with a theoretical foundation that really provides a real sense of what you are playing or composing. Also, Yuto, above all, is a great human being, with a big heart and passion for music. We ended up recording some things at his studio and continue to be good friends. I will always thank him and consider him to be one of the best musicians I´ve played with and hope to play again soon with him. To anyone that is looking for lessons on Jazz, or classical or any kind of music. I could, with all sincerety say, Yuto is the one for you. -Diego D.
I had started getting into Latin music a little over a year ago when I met first met Nick Herman. Originally, I tried to learn to play Latin percussion (congas, bongos, timbales etc.) from books and instructional videos. I also tried lessons with a few different musicians. I was at it for months, however, I found my progress to be very slow. Eventually, I confronted Nick about lessons. After only 5 lessons, my bongo playing had improved exponentially! I would play my bongos with other musicians in the park and after one or two songs, many people would compliment me on my playing. One night I played a duet with a guitarist who would compliment me on my playing after every song. Later, I came to find out he was the leader of a salsa band who frequently performed around the city! Shortly after that I made Nick my official trainer on the bongos and cowbell! Nick Herman also leads his own band. I think anyone who is serious about learning Latin percussion would benefit greatly by having Nick as an instructor. I wish I had began lessons with him sooner!
I am writing this review as a Colleague. While I have not taken lessons with Candice I know as a seasoned Professional Musician and Teacher myself what makes excellence: and excellence is what Candice's Music Studio offers. Candice is Passionate, Crafted at her Art, and an Excellent Leader and Team Player. It takes a lot more than a Degree in Music to be a great Teacher. You have to have Talent,Heart as well as intellect, instinct and: a desire to constantly be expanding your own horizons while lifting those up around you. Candice has those things in spades. Professionally, I refer Students and Professionals to Voice Studios all the time especially in NY. I would not hesitate to send my own Students to Candice's Music Studio. Our family has been students of The Piano Workshop at Chester for more 8+ years. We are at-home students, so we are not always in the studio, but when we are, we are so impressed with the staff and the overwhelming love of music and dedication to passing that love along to the students. While our teachers have turned over through the years, the excellent talent and teaching skills have not. My son's current teacher, Sonia Kiernan, is a very special person, not only a very talented musician. How someone keeps a 15-year old boy's love for piano thriving like she does is beyond me!
In to addition to being probably the best musician I've ever met, Nick is incredibly focused and reliable. He's dependable, highly talented and a delight to be around.
We hired Sho in early May to perform as a string quartet at the cocktail hour for our wedding, and we could not be happier with his performance! I love classical music but do not know string quartets as well, so Sho helped recommend some songs that would fit well. He was always very responsive and professional in communicating while planning the event. And best of all was the performance, as the quartet looked and sounded superb! It is clear that they all love music and are very talented and professional. I will highly recommend Sho to anyone in the future!
I'm not a musician myself, but I was blown over by how easy Caroline was to work with and she is clearly a talented violinist--she helped make our wedding really beautiful. Some of my musician friends commented on how technically amazing her playing was, and I'd definitely defer to their thoughts on the music front :). I'd highly recommend Caroline to play at any event where music, professionalism, and quality really matters! Thanks, Caroline!
Mikhail performed on the piano accompanied by his mother who plays the violin at my cocktail hour for our wedding... WOW!!!! Absolutely amazing. I have never met any two more passionate about what they do and you can see how the play. Their playing was so beautiful it made our wedding so much more anazing. They played a wide variety of music from classical to top 40. Would highly recommend them to play again. Thank you so much.
Charles is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. He has an upbeat, friendly attitude, and is also a fantastically skilled musician. I get so jealous when he illustrates a concept on his guitar with such ease. As a graduate of a music conservatory, I think Charles' level of musicianship is on par with musicians and instructors I've had in my prior training.
Helene was my piano teacher from kindergarten through high school. She taught me how to read, understand, play and love music. Furthermore, my early -and in-depth- start with piano prepared me for years of trumpet in various advanced bands. Although I am not currently taking lessons, I still sit down to play piano whenever I get the chance. I'll play anything from Bach to Beethoven to Josh Groban to new and classic Disney - really anything I'm in the mood for. Helene's teaching has made me proficient enough in piano and music in general such that I can truly enjoy playing. Thanks Helene!!
