Specific behaviors to address
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Hi! My name is Cousin Anne. I educate pups and their people for life. My methodology is relationship based with a focus on kind reinforcement which is built on a foundation of Exercise • Guidance • Love. Located on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan, I am a mature professional who provides attentive, individual dog-human relationship training and city adventure pack-walking with calm, assertive energy. I host one-on-one training at my Dog Academy, with my assistant, Cody, who is my dog. I have a small private backyard on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan. Four to six consecutive weeks are needed for a dog to be introduced to the new behaviors and begin to retain them. When your dog returns home, it is up to you and your dog to work together as a pack to reinforce the healthy habits s/he has learned. I offer remote private sessions. You and your dog would need to be present for these learning sessions. Consistency and follow through are crucial when learning new behaviors. We can accomplish quite a bit while inside the apartment. In fact, if your dog won’t listen to you inside, it will be more challenging outside where there are far more distractions. Anne is the best! My Iggy was only 6 months old when he went to stay with her for three weeks. Before he went away I was at my wits end with potty training, it seemed like he was never going to learn. He was also biting a lot and just overall anxious. He came back and he is no longer biting. Although still not perfect (he has a really small bladder as a dog who weighs less than 10lbs) he is doing a thousand times better with making on his pad and outside. He has a much calmer disposition and just seems happier in general. Anne is extremely kind and a true lover of dogs. She is also very professional and very knowledgeable. She was always available to give me updates and tips for how to ensure we got the most out of the training provided. After Iggy came home, she came to my apartment to help him acclimate to being home. She made me a lovely manual catered especially to my dog that I reference on a daily basis. Anne is the best and I will definitely stay in touch with her for advice on how to raise my puppy effectively so that he can be the best boy possible. I highly recommend her first class services to anyone looking for quality dog training from someone who really cares about client (and puppy) satisfaction. I am forever grateful!

Cousin Anne offers me a lot of support with my very frisky young pup! Her approach to wee wee pad training touches upon various broader aspects from pen management to monitoring timing across activities, to reinforcement across behaviours. She keeps me well informed of his progress, including videos and is kind and generous. I enjoy working with her!

Leash pulling be gone! Scout & I are now living in harmony. After collaborating with Cousin Anne, Scout and I are able to understand each other on a completely different level. CAs guidance totally made it apparent to me to see where the miscommunication was happening — it was me! I was not exhibiting the calm, assertive behavior of a pack leader so Scout felt it necessary to be pack leader which he isn’t. He is a middle of the pack, Happy Go Lucky. He had a lot of excited, pent up energy which also lead to his leash pulling. I also didn’t realize that my idea of a half hour walk is not really a half hour walk of exercise. I would just let him sniff, meander & pull me where he wanted to go. CA explained that my walk was an exploratory walk but he also needs focused walking. Typically, we now start our walk with the exploratory walk and NO pulling! Then, after he is “empty”, I take over and lead our focused walk. Cousin Anne would have her “Walk & Train” session without me. Then, Scout & I would need to do the homework. The homework assignments Scout & I needed to do were fun & easy. I recommend Cousin Anne’s Dog Academy to everyone one I know.

Anne has been absolutely wonderful with our extremely strong and high-energy 2-year-old Lab. From their very first meeting Anne was very calm, patient, and caring, and I could tell that she knows dog behavior inside and out— she knew just what to do to contain and safely release all that energy. My dog responded great to her, and after just a couple sessions I see a noticeable difference in my dog’s behavior. I’m really looking forward to having them keep working together!
