- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I offer 60 minute sessions for couples for $150.00 50 minute sessions for individuals for $125.00. If longer time is needed, we will schedule. If you are attending therapy for anger management, and you will commit to 8 sessions, the fee is $100 per session. I don't accept insurance, but if your policy will cover an out of network provider, I supply receipts to submit for reimbursement, and a number of my clients do receive reimbursements. If financial issues are a problem, I will offer you a discount.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? In working with individuals, we will discuss present specific needs and challenges and explore the influence of past history. With couples, the first session is focused on sharing as much information about your individual selves and backgrounds as well as your relationship issues and interaction as a couple. Structuring the sessions so that specific issues are explored without leading to conflict is necessary and helpful. Moving forward, we will address your mutual challenges with respect, in order to break a negative pattern, deepen understanding and lessen aggressive or defensive responses, if needed. We will explore your hopes and needs and work on changes toward a positive path forward.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and I have Master's degrees in Counseling Psychology and Education. In addition to mental health training and clinical experience, I have private practice in individual and couples therapy, anger management and family therapy. Yes, there is a constant need to stay informed about research and techniques. Courses, seminars, lectures, etc., are very useful and dedicated experience with a wide variety of individuals and couples and their range of issues is valuable.
