About this pro
I'm an expert in my field, but I'm also experienced in making my lessons engaging and entertaining. I tailor my lessons to the personality of the client and work to help my clients set and meet those goals. Education isn't one size fits all, and part of what makes me different is my ability to personalize the lessons and transform them from dry, rote repetition or memorization of skills to an exciting opportunity to expand a client's understanding of the material and the world around. I have a PhD in English, so I obviously love reading and writing. More than that, though, I love sharing what I know with my students. Enthusiasm for the material is contagious, and I think it's a blast when my students begin to understand and then enjoy the material or the process of learning.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Yes; as part of being engaged in higher education I am constantly engaging in and producing research as part of my field.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Ever since I was fifteen I knew I wanted to learn about and teach reading and writing. I was blessed with a high school teacher who introduced me to creative writing and novels, poems, and plays extraneous to the curriculum. What I found were other worlds. Ever since that moment I've wanted to reach and inspire others and share the experiences I had with the written word.
