First time home buyer and I decided to hire Zack for the sole reason that he is a builder/general contractor . My real estate agent recommended that when looking for a home inspector it was crucial to pick an inspector with hands on building experience, not an architect or engineer. To make a long story short we hired Zack , he came in conducted the inspection using all these gadgets and I was with him every step of the inspection . His findings determined major faults in the boiler, wiring for the entire property, basement sump pump was not functioning which would have caused a major flood in the basement and asbestos tiles that were laid out throughout the basement floor . I read other reviewers before hiring him which convinced me that Zack would be the right person for the job and I was glad I did . Overall I recommend him for anyone looking for a qualified experienced inspector! Ken is the only reason we are finally closing on our dream home Tuesday morning on a home we are so proud and excited to buy... And we avoided spending, or I should say wasting, $150,000 on a subpar gut rehab done by a "Quick flipper" Who calls himself a "contractor" Don't risk complicating your life and ruining it by getting duped. Hire Ken to mitigate all risk in your transaction. I should mention upfront that both times I needed him to inspect a home for me he managed to do it with little notice and he drove at least an hour and a half or two hours each way to make it to me. He's exactly what you want in a home inspector. Caring, modern, experienced. The next time you wonder whether spending the extra money on a home inspector is actually worth it, remember the review that told you that this man save me at least 150K. He helped us see things like how the seller had demonstrated corner cutting that was unexplainable and so obviously unacceptable. The siding was even touching the dirt on the ground, causing moisture to wick up through the plywood walls. All the wood throughout the entire ranch home was warped. While the seller blamed his subcontractor, Ken knew the real reason: moisture. Ken has what a good home inspector needs â of course you need someone with integrity and expertise. However what he others on top is an unshakable drive to get up every day and make a difference in people's lives in a real way you can feel. After working with Ken you and your significant other can make a better decision to either run for the hills or run to your mortgage broker or bank to make a happy decision after inspecting the house. Instead of a nightmare, we are moving into a house that is $100K less and actually turnkey. So turnkey in fact, that it has endless hot water with a tankless high efficient furnace and water heater in one, that has a 12"x18 wall mounted furnace beauty like I've never seen before. We don't even have to touch the toilets to flush. Patience + home inspector = dreams coming true. These are my two prerequisite and rule for the equation for anyone buying a home who wants a relatively stress-free transaction - as little as it could be anyway. He is somebody who I have hired multiple times and have recommended to every real estate agent in my area.
I needed a home inspection for a property that I was planning to buy and we had a great experience with the job done by Mike Bugge. He was very thorough and pointed out many situations in the property that I had not noticed. His report was very complete, included photos and very detailed explanations. Despite the unpleasant circumstance of having to deal with a mold situation recently, it was an absolute pleasure to have Mary Perricone in my home for a mold inspection. She is licensed, skilled, thorough and absolutely focused in her sample gathering. All that and more was reflected in the report that followed after her visit. I was surprised to read how detailed her observations were and how specific her recommendations. Given all that, I still would have to say her strongest asset is her strong power of observation. I never suspected she had such a keen eye for detail. She certainly searched in the most unlikely places for her air and mold samples, but they proved quite effective when I later read her report. Another great asset she demonstrated was her ability to listen to my concerns and address them. Mold is not a happy occurrence and she understood that. Mary Perricone, the go-to person for mold inspection, a real professional. I highly recommend her.
