It's a pleasure working with Tim. He creates a very comfortable learning environment.Jun 2, 2018
Tim has been teaching my 17 year old for just under a year. He has really helped him move along from a merely classical repertoire to a more jazz and improvisational mode. He has an excellent rapport with my son and has been very flexible and willing to listen to what my son wished to do. I have seen marked progress since we started. Tim is quite committed to his work and we are very happy to have found him.May 31, 2018

I've know Tim for over 10 years, He is an outstanding musician and teacher. His knowledge of jazz, harmony and technique is extensive. He is an exceptional teacher.Jun 14, 2016
I love to listen to Tim play. He's a great accompaniest- always alert and working to create a stimulating soundscape for the soloist. Tim has a very versatile harmonic sense - as well as a great way of developing melodies with clarity and space.Jun 12, 2016

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Since I need to factor in prep and travel time, I charge around $60 for each hour of teaching. This is a high-quality service, and it's my goal to make all of our time completely worthwhile and meet or exceed students' expectations.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I will ask you a few preliminary questions online so that I can understand what you are looking for in a teacher. When we are ready to move forward, and have found a time for lessons or for a preliminary meeting, we will exchange contact info and coordinate for the first meeting via that contact.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a Master's Degree in Jazz Performance at Manhattan School of Music, and a Bachelor's Degree of Jazz Performance at the University of North Texas. I have participated in Outreach programs to first graders in Harlem through Manhattan School of Music, and been on faculty at the Stanford Jazz Workshop during the summer of 2011 at Stanford University.
