As a foreigner actor, I have an European accent that I would like to turn off and on whenever the part requires to do so. When I moved to the city (New York), I was looking to get into some speech classes. Through a mutual friend, I met Susan and from our conversation she knew immediately what I needed to work on. I started her classes and I was introduced to a new world of phonetics and rules of pronunciation that I had no idea that existed.
Susan made it very easy for me to learn how to reduce my accent and every class was a huge progress, consisting not only in phonetics exercises, but also breathing techniques and sound emission. And I was witnessing the progress not only at myself, but also at my classmates.
She answers every question you can possibly think of and she is very encouraging when she sees that you are working hard. Her feedback is on point and you walk out at the end of the day more confident in your abilities of speaking like a true American.
For me, meeting Susan was a huge step forward in my career as an actor. With her guidance and great teaching methods, I can honestly say that my acting horizons have spread considerably.
If I had to reccommend a great speech and voice teacher, thinking of my personal experience, I would go with Susan. You will walk out a pro.

Susan Finch is a Master of voice and speech. When I am with Susan, I feel well in myself. My communications skills flourish just by being in her presence. Her coaching skills gently unlock unwanted speech habits in a nonjudgmental environment and fun and laughter are always elements in her work. Since I've experienced both her private lessons and her communication course, "Speak-Up", I feel confident as I speak in work related meetings and in daily interactions with everyone I encounter. I took an accent reduction class with Susan Finch and I couldn't believe what a difference it made in my accent and speech. I have always dreamed about speaking english clear of accent and Susan showed me the path to it. Susan guided me not only during classes, but on how I can continue to work on my own to achieve this goal! Highly recommended!!!

Susan taught me not only "good speech" but also helped me to expand as an actor, an artist and also a human being. Her class was filled with creative energy and fun. Also it was the place we can feel safe to fully explore and challenge ourselves.
Studying with her was one of the most productive experience in my acting life.

I took her Accent reduction class and it was the best class i've ever had! she has so many passion about every single second!! She never misses what we need for and she knows exactly what we need work in accent!
I can't even imagine how she was amazing ! And i would love to take another her classes !! Can't wait!! If you consider about acting, or accent, don't hesitate working with her!!!!! She is the most sincere and true teacher! Thank u Susan
