- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
When estimating a job to quote on Thumbtack I would ask the client to provide as much detail as possible about their expectations for the end product. How long would you like the video to be? How do you plan to use it? Are you scripting what is to be said or can it better be served by interviewing key people to get natural sounding and friendly answers to use in the video? This basic idea plus the equipment that will be needed, expert levels of editing and other factors round out our estimating process. I want to provide a reasonable rate for the work that if fair to the client and my company. We tend to base our rates on half and full day of work in shooting and editing along with the equipment that will be needed such as multiple cameras, wireless microphones and lighting. We pay a premium to submit a quote so it is important to include as much information as possible so you get the right bidders the first time through.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I see their request for bids, I respond with a rate and short note (to assure I am one of the 5 quotes to get through) and then follow up with more detail that will help the client decide who is their best choice. Once we establish that we will be working together my team and I get together our detailed plan and work with you to be prepared and ready to begin. We ask for a deposit of 50% of the chosen services when reserving the time on our schedule for your project recording and editing. My goal is to make every video something I would be proud to showlasting relationships with clients who have re-occurring video needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Having worked in television news both as management and also as a videographer, I learned story telling with journalistic integrity and style as well as the technical skills to operate the equipment. I learned along side talented television news video journalists with great integrity. The above educational skills mixed with my own artistic creativity in visual media has my entire team excited about providing the best service with exceptional quality video products.
