Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I had built a website, pro bono, for the Ossining Microfund, a local charity, When they decided to upgrade, they turned to me to build an attractive website that explained their services, that incorporated contact and donation forms and that they could update themselves,
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I've written an article in Articles Factory (http://www.articlesfactory.com/articles/internet/how-to-find-a-good-website-designer.html) on that subject. In a nutshell:
-- Ask for a recommendation. Don't be impressed by slick marketing. --Make sure you get a contract that outlines what your designer will do for you -- Check out his/her portfolio. --Talk to the designer and make sure he/she listens to you, and that you will be able to work with him/her.
