Thank you Nick for making my daughters Engagement Party one to remember. The DJ music and your sons solo music had everyone on the dance floor. We enjoyed it so much and received a lot of good feedback. We also loved the photo booth and all the pictures. Thank you for your solo at the end it was awesome! I will let you know when my daughter sets her wedding date. Joanne
Absolutely perfect—that sums up our experience with Scott. We hired Scott to entertain our 40 guests at our annual holiday party in our home in Tribeca, and his skills, background and music blew away the other vendors who submitted quotes. Not only is he a wonderfully talented pianist, he is a composer, arranger and teacher. As such, he brings unparalleled skills in creating the perfect musical backdrop to any function…and our holiday soiree was no exception. Warm and welcoming in person and via email, he is professional, pleasant and aims to please. My wife & I asked Scott to prepare a set list filled with sounds of the season—and Scott prepared and performed an endless array of wonderful holiday classics infused with touches of jazz…providing the ideal mood for conversation, laughter and enjoyment. We will most certainly be booking Scott again for our private and corporate events moving forward, and strongly urge anyone looking for a fantastically talented pianist to hire him for any type of gathering, large or small.
Ivan was a phenomenal addition to our holiday event on Friday, December 16th. He was extremely accommodating, and very professional. He is truly a talented man, and we can't wait to use him at our next non-profit event. I highly recommend Ivan to whoever is look for a solo pianist.
Al Louis Entertainment did an outstanding job at our wedding! Friends and family were having a blast on the dance floor all night long. I've known Alan personally for many years and he is an amazing performer and music professional!
Just for background information, I took lessons with Christine for about 4 years throughout high school with a focus in classical voice. I currently still study voice in college and I can honestly say I have the most helpful foundation I could have ever asked for for that. Christine instills a very strong vocal foundation both artistically and technically. She doesn't dumb anything down, but is absolutely understandable even for beginners. She is also incredibly knowledgeable as a musician, which is enormously helpful because with each new piece she adds to your repertoire, she also builds theoretical and artistic knowledge which helps you be able to perform other pieces later on. So I went into a lot of later repertoire having a solid understanding of the purpose and context of the music I was singing. Also, she never loses sight of the artistic aspects of singing, never letting pronunciation, oddly placed breaths, facial expressions, body language, misunderstanding of text, etc, slide. This seems kind of standard, but it's actually a really professional way of treating your students and made me personally, approach my music with as much professionalism as I had developed. I also found it extremely helpful that she explained why she did asked me to do certain things or ignore other things because, especially for beginners, classical training can seem like a black box and occasionally feels like it's taking you backwards. Having those explanations assuaged a lot of that fear. In my experience, I felt a lot of changes both explicitly and implicitly. I felt my voice grow, in range and strength, and my technical foundation and knowledge are both fairly solid. I stopped fidgeting and found a tremendously improved focus and composure while performing (a big problem for me). My Italian pronunciation is actually quite good now. My ear and internal tempo are both MUCH better. My theoretical knowledge is a lot more in depth than it was, (kind of a bonus because that's not her job). And my contextual knowledge of music is also at a much higher level than it would have been otherwise. Overall, Christine is a really talented teacher and musician who provides a lot of understandable but high level information, impeccable and PRECISE technique, and an artistic but academic approach to music and singing which lays a perfect philosophy in her students for continuing to grow as musicians.
Sean is an amazing musician. Furthermore, he teaches music theory in a proper way. He is a good music teacher.
Talking Machine played at backyard party and was a huge hit. Great musicians and vocals, great selection of songs! The guests said they made the party!
Jonathan Segal is not only an extremely talented pianist but also a very skilled and insightful teacher of piano whether classical, jazz, or pop. He is a very nice guy with a great sense of humor that makes the piano lessons even more enjoyable -- not to mention more productive ! I highly recommend him. I am very glad to have found Jonathan as an instructor for studying piano.
Matthew is very professional musician. He took a lot of time to assist me preparing a very special song list for my husband's birthday dinner party. My family really enjoyed themselves especially because of his soulful sounds from playing the saxophone. He was mesmerizing. And, we're going to invite him back in the near future. Thanks, Matthew!
Barbara helped us find a piano teacher for our 2 kids. Great communication and we are very happy with the outcome. My daughters love their new teacher.
I've known Kevin for over ten years as a friend, a guitar teacher and a musician. He has an outstanding music knowledge base when it comes to theory, harmony, and composition. I studied with him for about three years and rate him as a teacher at the top of the list. He is very patient, and simpatico! He knows how to break things down so they can be easily grasped, and used. I am primarily interested in using the guitar as compositional instrument. Kevin has helped me find the most suitable arrangements and chord voicings for my work. Just recently I asked him to perform and record one of my songs, composed for my sweethearts birthday. I was very pleased with his interpretation of the piece, and my partner was enchanted. In conclusion, I highly recommend Kevin as a consomate professional, an excellent musician, and one great guy.
Drew is an exceptional musician and teacher. He is adapt at making abstract musical concepts concise and easy to understand. Drew also has a way of making challenging techniques feel less intimidating. Anyone who can make barre chords feel comfortable for a student is an excellent teacher!
Steve is not only a great musician and teacher, but a terrific role model for my kids. He always shows up on time ready to teach with a positive attitude. My children always look forward to his lessons and they are motivated to continue with their musical practice.
I have been a student at U Music for 3 1/2 years. When I began studying there I had been playing with a band for a couple of years and had just begun playing a a solo gig here and there. Now both the band thing and the solo work are going strong. Lou Ubriaco has helped me to move my playing to another level and there is no end in sight. I recommend the school to any student-especially the motivated person who wants to seriously find some chops. Lou sugar coats nothing. Practice, practice, practice-but if you are willing to put in the work he will take you where you want to go. 5 stars all the way.
Joyce has been teaching my twin 9 year old boys for over 3 years. She started teaching piano to them and now they learn trumpet from her as well. Joyce is an excellent teacher. She is a wonderful and accomplished musician and she is patient and makes learning fun for my boys. They love her and they playing their instruments.
Our family has been students of The Piano Workshop at Chester for more 8+ years. We are at-home students, so we are not always in the studio, but when we are, we are so impressed with the staff and the overwhelming love of music and dedication to passing that love along to the students. While our teachers have turned over through the years, the excellent talent and teaching skills have not. My son's current teacher, Sonia Kiernan, is a very special person, not only a very talented musician. How someone keeps a 15-year old boy's love for piano thriving like she does is beyond me!
I follow Nico's gigs as regularly as possible and have been doing so ever since her fledgling days as a singer song-writer. I love her original music as it has captivating melodies and heartfelt lyrics . She is quite tenacious in getting herself "out there" and in so doing, she leaves me breathless with all the things she does to promote her talents at any one time. I like to go with friends to hang out at her various gigs and be entertained by her while casually enjoying good food rather than a cover band with very loud music. Nico is a very talented singer and musician who plays different instruments equally well.
Before taking lessons from Jacob I wasn't sure if music was for me. After the first lesson I realized the potential of the ukulele and my potential as a musician. Super love the lessons and how he's helped me so far!
We hired James to play instrumental guitar for our momâs 100th birthday party. Frankly⦠he was great! On the day of the event he arrived on time, set up quickly, and got right to work. He played a wide variety of music throughout the afternoon including music from the 1940âs, exactly as we had requested. In addition to being a gifted musician, James was professional, competent and gracious to all of our guests. He was a pleasure to work with. James, thanks so much for a job well done!
OMM is a very talented musician with a unique approach to entertaining the listener's ears. From the headless neck of his guitar to his computer generated digital accompaniment Matt will keep the party rolling.
Sho is so insanely talented, and was such a pleasure to have play at our wedding. He played solo for us, outside at the Central Park Conservatory Garden. His sound is just so beautiful and incredible. I was nervous about the acoustics since you can't have any amplified sound at the park, but Sho made it work just beautifully. We chose some classical violin solos for our ceremony from a long list he provided. He is so knowledgable of the pieces, and put me at such ease - he told me to take my time with the procession, if we were walking slow and the song was going to run over, he knew how to loop it and keep the music going until everyone was in place. He really knew how to make everything happen seamlessly. I highly recommend Sho! Just to met him was a pleasure. He's a very cool person.
