FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The prices for my services, based on a 250-word, double-spaced page, are as follows: PROOFREADING Correction of light basic errors. Proofreading is $1.50 per page or $0.006 per word. Rush fee is $10 per 20 pages. COPY EDITING Correcting for grammatical inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and paragraph re-structuring. Copy editing is $2.50 per page or $0.01 per word. Rush fee is $20 per 20 pages. CONTENT EDITING Rare instances where the document will require a deep restructuring of the content. This category also covers developmental editing. Content editing is $5 per page or $0.02 per word. Rush fee is $30 per 20 pages. ADDITIONAL SERVICES For academic projects, there is a $0.50 per source fee if you would like me to research or track down the source you used to ensure that you didn't unwittingly leave out any authors, part of an author's name or initials, and to double check that you formatted your source correctly according to the source type (e.g. blog, book, journal, online journal, transcript, etc.). WEB PAGE/BLOG EDITING Pricing is based on the assumption of 300 words per web page, and is $3.50 per page or $0.012 per word.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once a client indicates that I am hired, I like to follow up with a phone call to fully discuss the project and establish expectations, in addition to answering any questions the client may have. I then have the clients email me their documents so I can review them and provide a final quote, which is dependent on whether proofreading, copy editing, or content editing is required.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A in English and Psychology. I've won some school writing awards in my life and for one year I did an internship for an entrepreneurial online music magazine.
