One of the most important things to look at when choosing a translator is to choose someone who grew up speaking the language you need. Find a native speaker. They spoke it as first language and you will want someone who can easily spot errors. However if you intend to hire a non-native speaker, it is fine too. You can even get them at a lower rate. But remember, you need to make sure that they should have been living in the country of the language for a minimum of ten years. This is to ensure the quality of their translation work.
