Introduction: Joanne is an author, dramatist and film historian. She has written seven plays. Her Judy's Dead took first prize in the 2010 Writers Digest Stage Play competition -now in negotiations for upcoming film, and The Suicide Angel is currently in feature film pre-production. Joannes historical play Earthmen will be released as a short film in 2016. Norma Jeane Enlightened, a fantasy about Marilyn in the afterlife was well received. Her film review column appears in The Fire Island News. Ms. de Simones work has been published in various magazines and film journals. Her new YA book, The Curious Plight of Milicent Wryght, will be released in October 2016; the second edition of her pre-teen book, The Metro Cats: Life in the Core of the Big Apple (Gazebo Gardens Publishing) is available now on Amazon, Kindle, Nook, Kobo and retail book shops. Joanne's newest play, Olivia's Roses, was produced at NYC's Thespis Theater Festival, September 2015.
Drawn to writing about precarious situations, she blends irony with fantasy in her work, along with some subtle fatalistic flirting. Her services now include creative writing tutoring.
