Helens classes are different every day. She combines cardio/plyo/body weight strength and Dumbbells. Her classes are definitely the hardest workouts I've ever done, however you can modify anything you need. Helen has taught me what it is to push myself!! She truely cares and helps you in anyway she can including body measurements and individual fitness tests. Motivating and fun people!!
When I arrived for the appointment Gia was ready for me. She took time to understand my specific concerns and then addresses them during the session. Everything she did was carefully explained.

In 2007, I decided it was time to take my health and wellness into my own hands and make a positive change. However, after years of being a runner and performing in local theatre, I didn't know where to start. I made my decision to meet with a personal trainer after performing as a featured dancer in a local theatre production. After years of performing, I finally arrived at point where I didnt have the strength to perform certain partner lifts. I knew it was time to start strength training to build some muscle mass and increase my size and weight. I was fortunate enough to come across Max Effort Training and had my initial meeting with Jacques-Luis. After that first hour discussing my goals and history, I knew I was about to start an exciting journey. Jacques-Luis and I started a plan to shift away from my years of distance running. I started off being underweight at 143 pounds and suffered from several digestive issues because of my weight. After a short time, I was already seeing results and feeling better both physically and mentally. We continued to adapt the program as my comfort level increased and I was ready to take on more workouts on my own. We started with weight training twice a week. I now I head into the gym five days a week, my weight is up to 170 pounds with a body fat percentage still around 14%. Ive increased my muscle mass and Im continuing to increase my weight-training plan to continue increasing my strength and mass. But more importantly, my confidence is at a level its never been in my entire life, my health issues are completely gone, and Im able to perform on stage with no concerns about stamina or strength. As a true testament to his training, 3 years after Jacques-Luis and I started working together, I was again a featured dancer and was able to perform several lifts with my dance partners. Over the years, Ive been able to count on Jacques-Luis to help me adjust my workout plans to change from bulking phases, to cutting phases, and to prepare for performances. Weve adapted to injuries, surgeries, vacations, and everything in between. Hes pushed me to levels I never thought Id achieve in the gym. Working out started off as something incredibly intimidating and has evolved into something I look forward to on a daily basis. As we continue to work together and continuously tweak my workout plans, I know I can always check-in with questions, concerns, and new ideas and well work through them together. Jacques-Luis has always made me feel comfortable and confident in my abilities and it has had a profound on my life in many ways; as a bonus, weve gone from a client/trainer relationship to being friends. I look forward to many more years working together. I would highly recommend the training team at Max Effort Training to anyone who is interested in improving their health and wellness to achieve their personal fitness goals.
Janine is such a joy to work with. Her teaching style allows me to feel very safe yet encouraged to excel all at the same time. Whenever there is a particular technique I find difficult to accomplish, Janine has always been able to break down a movement in such a clear way, making associations for me that no one else could. Janine has always been a driving force, motivating me to be more creative, more strong, and a more confident mover. I respect her greatly as a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of physical fitness. I highly recommend Janine as a trainer. She will help you exceed your goals.
I've been with Carol for 7 plus years! Ive tried it all from Crossfit to Power Vinyasa Yoga. Carols unique approach to encompass the personalized physical needs of her clients is unsurpassed! She has successfully strengthened me back after a severe spinal Disc rupture (including a broken piece of spinal bone) tennis elbow surgery and a sprained ankle I suffered last year while on vacation. Carol listens to the needs of her clients like no other fitness instructor I've met! She is diligent on working with her clients posture by really focusing on each clients needs. Not only does Carol work with her clients inside her personal studio but she gives valuable tips and reminders on how to keep up healthy posture outside the studio whether it's in your car, a chair, or while you sleep! If you crave a certified trainer that will listen to your individual needs and work with any recent limitations or injuries you have successfully found your new personal trainer! I can assure you you will be happy and confident with your decision as Carol's retention of clients is very high over the years! It's a very welcoming group of people she trains and whether you work with her individually or as a group I assure you you will feel very welcomed!

I have been with Power Train for 2 years and I can honestly say that it has made me a stronger and faster player. The trainers are there to work you hard and help you become the best athlete you can be. They helped me work towards my goal of being able to sign to a D2 school and play on an academy team. When I had my two knee surgeries the trainers helped me gain back my range of motion, my speed on cuts, and make all the muscles around my knee stronger! Now I am stronger than I ever have been and do not have anymore knee problems. Thank you Power Train for all the support and training you have given me!
This past summer I trained with Chad during his Strong Performance Training Boot Camp. As someone who doesn't enjoy sweating or working out, it was the most fun I've ever had training. He kept the workouts fresh and exciting every time. He also paid very close attention to details, giving easy to follow verbal and demonstrated instructions, and actively coaching to make sure everyone performed the exercises correctly in order to get the best benefits from each exercise. Chad was very personable, knowledgeable, and reliable. I would highly recommend him as a trainer to anyone.

I began taking Jen's classes over 2 years ago, and just fell in love with them. Took Abs class, firm/burn, and Sat. boot camps. Jen's enthusiasm for fitness, and healthy lifestyle has definitely influenced my love for fitness, and leading a healthy lifestyle.. She's amazing.
