I hired Justin to help me with my laminate floor installation. He has been great to work with. He took time out of his own schedule to meet with me for the estimate and then actually went shopping with me for the laminate. He's helped come up with some creative solutions for trim and transitions.
Roof shingle and fascia repairs. Insulation of cantilever. Excellent work and went the extra mile with insulation below and above cantilever flooring to do the job right. Brian was on time, professional and courteous. Options and pricing were clearly explained to allow for the best choice for our needs.
I had Jeff come out to my home to provide me with an estimate for a full bathroom installation in my basement. He was incredibly detailed and took over an hour and half of his time to listen to my needs, perform measurements and explain different facets of the project and options available to me. He later emailed me a very detailed estimate. While we ultimately chose to go with a different contractor, I would have felt very comfortable going with Jeff for my project.
O'Neill from Campbell Services was a delight to work with for my furniture assembly project. He was extremely professional, had a very reasonable rate, and arrived on time. I had him put together a coffee table with a heavy glass top. He did a wonderful job and it only took him about 20 minutes (super fast!). He was even courteous enough to clean up his work space after he finished, which I very much appreciated. I would absolutely recommend hiring Campbell Services for any home installation or assembly project. You won't be disappointed!!
Outstanding experience with Brian and his team. Very responsive and flexible, and did an amazing job on my basement flooring project. Will def call him again!
Door installation. Scheduled quickly, started work early in the morning to suit my work schedule, work performed well and to estimate.
A very pleasant and competent carpenter; could benefit from taking more time for the pre-job process. Did arrive on time as scheduled and completed work to our satisfaction. What I thought was going to be a door trim replacement (to replace rotted out trim) turned out to be a complete entry door replacement due to the fact that the framing of the door was rotted as well. To be fair, he had mentioned this possibility ahead of time, but I didn't think it was necessary as I thought the framing was part of door trim to be replaced. My only complaint would be that had he come by ahead of time for just a quick stop to inspect the project, determine materials needed, then final-quote the job, he could have arrived with the correct materials and time required to do the job and i'd have given 5 stars. Instead, the quote was loosely handled via text / email with me sending pix of the door frame condition. Project turned out to be more involved when he saw it himself, requiring a quick procurement of a whole new door unit (which cost significantly more than the amount he mentioned before running out to the local home improvement store to purchase door unit & materials). Instead of $240 plus materials ($140 mentioned for door), it was $240 plus a $220 door. This also resulted in an installation done partially in the dark of night as it took more time than planned - finish work and cleanup would probably have been cleaner if done by daylight. A bit of a rush job but as it is just a garage door it will do.
JC Dengel Carpentry and Flooring was very responsive and helped us out in such a short notice. They got what we needed done in a day of meeting with them. Very kind and will likely do more business with them in the future!! Also, very reasonable in pricing. Thanks!
We would hire Alexander Enterprises again. Pros: friendly, competent, fairly priced, good quality work, responsive, polite workers. We loved how flexible and friendly they were to work with and the bathroom turned out great. Todd had a great vision for the project and struck a good balance between encouraging us to go along with his vision and ultimately letting us make the decision. His ideas turned out better than what we would have done. Cons: they keep busy on lots of jobs, so they can be a little disorganized or behind schedule as they get everyone there who needs to be there. There wasn't a lot of collaboration/planning on the design process for the details like fixtures, trim, tile so a lot of decisions were last minute, but they were flexible when we took our time making those decisions. We didn't know about all of the changes to the budget until the final invoice. We knew about the big stuff, but there was still probably 10% of the overall cost that was a surprise, so next time I'd ask for all change orders to be finalized before they start working on that item.
Putting this review into perspective, my last assignment before retiring was as Resident Engineer for a major signaling system upgrade for a large western commuter railroad. I am well aware of the many "shortcuts" that construction/installation crews may take to expedite their "on time" and their "within budget" framework. I have also personally done major renovations to my own home, including installing a roof, before I retired. But now that I'm into my eighties I needed someone else to do the work. I evaluated a few potential contractors. Scott was soon on the "short list". He was available, friendly, accommodating, and prompt in addressing my concerns - but that is not what this review is about. It's about the quality of material, the workmanship, the follow-through when unforeseen problems cropped up - and, of course, the cost of the job. He delivered as promised, except in two instances where he upgraded materials at no extra cost. Small amount in dollars - large amount in integrity. First class workmanship (I couldn't have done better). Work was completed by actual promise date and none of the "Oh, Oh - look what we found" half way through the job. With that performance I can tell you that I rate him and his crew as five-star performers. Would I recommend him ? We're already talking about working on the next project !!
Gary just installed our front porch and we are very pleased with the quality of the work. He is very professional with excellent follow-up.
Robert exceeded our expectations with our closet organizer install and garage wall remote troubleshooting. He was creative and came back for 2 additional closet organizer installs and even painted the interior of one closer. Will hire again.
A brief note to say Thank You to Jason Miller and Team from a Very Satisfied Repeat Customer - 3 major renovations plus multiple smaller projects (kitchens, baths, flooring, painting, roofing, siding etc.) - conscientious, reliable, coordinates with other specialties, if necessary, ie. HVAC LC LaMar Ventures, Inc.
Ryan was so awesome - incredibly detail orientated and a perfectionist, exactly what you want from someone installing something like tile! He did a subway tile backsplash for us; it looks amazing and we've already gotten so many compliments. Highly recommend!
So we started our kitchen renovation -- a full addition, which was done by another company. once that was done, Cutting Edge came in and began their work. during the project, both Timothy and John were very very responsive, keeping us updated sometimes multiple times in a day. Their attention to detail over the smallest things was just incredible. they gave their input whenever we asked and we trusted them to have our best interest at heart ... they did all of the electric, hvac, drywall, paint, flooring, installed the cabinets, backsplash in kitchen and powder room, trim, plumbing. they actually came across a huge plumbing issue (not anything they did) and fixed it without complaining. Their quality of work is really top notch. Both Timothy and John gave us great ideas on how to maximize our now open-kitchen plan based on obstacles that could not be removed. while this increased our expense, it was well worth it, and was the best bang for the buck. everyone on their crew is polite and everyone shared the same attention to detail and craftsmanship. i would gladly give a recommendation for these guys. if you have any kitchen or bath remodeling, get these guys to do it, you won't be sorry!!
We had a project of finishing the basement, and Josh came out to take care of the carpeting. He did the landing, stairs, and 200 sqft of living area that was a bit of an odd shape. He really went out of the way to take care of any issues that we came across, and was incredibly professional through the entire process. We were incredibly pleased with the work he did, and couldn't be happier about how the final product came out! Thank you Josh!
