Ryan has been working with me for about a week now, and it has been such a great experience. I have tried workout DVDs and going to the gym, but for those who need the extra motivation, or who don't necessarily know what you should or shouldn't be doing to reach your fitness goal; I would definitely recommend giving Key-2-Fitness a try. Ryan is always a text away and always willing to help me with any questions I may have. He has managed to get me excited about working out and getting in shape. Every session is always a comfortable environment, and I have no doubt that when I'm done with his program, I won't just be walking away as a healthier, stronger, and more in shape human being, but I'll also be walking away with a friend. I would highly recommend checking out Key-2-Fitness if you're looking for a great personal trainer.

Jah of Lox Fitness is by far one of the best personal trainers I've ever worked with. He is highly professional, and extremely educated. His motivation and work ethics is highly contagious. The weight loss I experienced in such a short period is incredible! I am very blessed to have met a trainer with Jahs ethics and morals! I am so excited to see how my body will continue to transform under Jahs guidance.

I was an athlete and used to be a personal trainer (pre-kids) but in my thirties I quickly became what is referred to in the fitness industry as "Special Population" I had hip resurfacing in 2008. I met Carol shortly after my physical therapy ended and I was searching for a trainer who understood my muscle imbalance and muscle weakness after surgery. Carol helped me regain my strength and prior fitness level. I could not have achieved this without her. Some of you may be familiar with new hips or resurfaced hips, the pain prior to surgery is such that your muscles atrophy because you limp or avoid using your joint altogether. Carol listened and developed an individual program understanding my goals and limitations. Over the years I have stayed with her and have referred several other people to her. She is excellent, honest, and changes lives.

Michelle is a yoga instructor who brings passion, life, fundamentals, and incredible energy to her classes. She has the ability to focus on technique, while incorporating a fun and energetic flow. The essence of yoga is about energy and the ability to leave your mat feeling as though you can bring who you were in the classroom into the world, and Michelle is a prime example of someone who not only lives by that philosophy, but presents classes that allow you to do so yourself. Her music, voice, and charisma could inspire just about anyone. She takes time to focus on individuals, while still keeping the class moving. I highly recommend Michelle, especially for a fun, free-flowing Vinyasa class.

I started working with Kyle a few weeks ago to help me with a career change and I cannot say enough positive things about the experience. Kyle is very personable and easy to talk to. I feel very comfortable discussing with him the issues surrounding my reasons for wanting a change and priorities in life and work. He is a great listener and very responsive to questions both in our Skype sessions and via email. Though my coaching is still in progress, his positive attitude, the tasks he's set out for me to help reach my goals and just our overall conversations have already made a big difference. I'm really looking forward to continuing to work with him to achieve my career and life goals.

Where do I start with describing Zach & his yoga classes? My words will fall short. What I can say is that he is welcoming, warm, deeply knowledgeable, fully aware & thoughtful of his students, and has a positive energy about him that is a joy to be around. He is also accessible to all ages - me and my 20's-something friends, to my mother in her 70's. Personally, I have attended Zach's yoga class weekly for almost a year now, and he has come to teach small classes in my condo community. Prior to attending Zach's first class, I had never felt attached to yoga - with all forms of 'work-outs’ and really even any educational setting, I believe that you need to find the right teacher to make the subject/activity applicable to and enjoyable for you. Zach offered yoga to me in a way that has created a strong presence of yoga in my life. Learning from/with him each week keeps me in balance. I recommend him to everyone :-)

Great trainer that comes highly recommended! I belonged to a gym prior to working with Paul, and I much prefer the one-on-one instruction of a personal trainer. Instead of working on a specific muscle group per day, Paul programs full-body workouts that are fast with high intensity. When I first started working with him, he modified each work out for me since I was a beginner. Now, I am doing much more difficult workouts, and i've seen some awesome results; not only have I lost excess fat, but i'm becoming much, much stronger. I also like that we record each of my workouts, results, weights, and time, with the option to monitor my nutrition intake, and receive diet advice that aligns with my fitness goals. I definitely recommend giving him a call!

Mike coached me for 4 years in the long and triple jump. Great Coach! He know's how to find talent in his athletes and how to elevate this talent to it's highest capacity. Spent ample time with me in all areas of strength, conditioning, technique and speed. He was a D1 athlete himself so he knew how to get me to my peak performance. He provided one on one time to focus on me and created customized workout plans for me. All around great coach and mentor. Thanks for all of your years for hard work and dedication. I'm a greater athlete/person because of it.

I have worked with Kate Massie, Organized Beyond Belief, LLC since the inception of her business in 2003. Kate has supported me during several relocations; organizing household items in preparation for the move, and assisting in the unpacking and organizing of the kitchen in the new locations. She has helped me reorganize our clothes closets, basement storage, and worked with our four teenaged children to clean and organize their bedrooms (no easy task). Kate has also helped me develop and manage a very efficient and intuitive filing system for our paperwork. Kate is the consummate professional, easy to have in your home, and a pleasure to work with.

Gia is great at what she does! I worked with her when I was starting my business. She kept me on track, following up our sessions with inspiring emails that recapped our conversation and gave me momentum. She's a combination of a tough coach, a personal project manager and a supportive friend. She has such positive energy and, as a long-time business owner herself, she knows what she's talking about. Highly recommend!

I was going through a divorce and saw this listing for a life coach. Not knowing what a life coach was I thought that I would check it out. I did some reading about it and thought that I would give it a chance. Seeing how the first meeting was free, what did I have to loose. After about 15 minuets I was very comfortable with Shaun and decided that I would give it a shot. I can honestly tell you that it changed my life. Not just for my divorce, but my whole life. It was an eye opener, I can tell you that. The things that he showed me were so helpful that I will always be greatful to him. All I can say is, if you are having a hard time with something in your life, you might want to give him a call. Like I said before, the first meeting is free.

            Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

            What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

            What is a health coach?

A health coach is a service provider you can hire to help you realize your wellness goals. You can hire a health and wellness coach to guide you through life changes, keep you focused on weight loss or fitness goals, help boost your mental health, and more. Many health coaches work with their clients for set periods of time as the client moves toward a measurable goal. Wellness coaches come from varying backgrounds, and may have different areas of focus depending on their education and training. Research potential coaches by reading their reviews, researching their academic and personal backgrounds, and learning about any certifications they have earned from coaching institutes. Often, health and wellness coaches sell coaching packages ranging from three to six months or longer, depending on the client’s needs. The average national cost for an individual health coach session ranges from $60 to $90, although prices may range as low as $30 or up to $130 or more, depending on your location and the coach.

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

What is a holistic wellness coach?

When you want to reach new heights with your health and wellness, consider hiring a holistic wellness coach. Much like a health coach, a holistic wellness coach is focused on your well-being and meets with you in one-on-one sessions to help you identify and reach your targeted goals. A holistic wellness coach will typically have you take all components of your life into account when working to achieve your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, a holistic wellness coach will not only offer recommendations for your diet and exercise, but also discuss your emotional health, your work/life balance, your spiritual side, and each area of your life that affects your ability to follow a nutrition and fitness plan.

Although they are highly motivational and often can help clients achieve great results, holistic wellness coaches are not professional health care providers or registered dietitians. Different institutes and training centers provide certifications for holistic wellness coaching, so be sure to research your coach and read their reviews to understand more about their techniques and training.

            Why get a life coach?

People of all ages and in all careers have called in a life coach. Life coaches are accredited professionals who can help you figure out the tangible changes you can make in your life to reach your goals; they can even help you turn your dreams into goals, if you’re not sure where to go next. A life coach can also help people find their purpose in life. Life coaching clients often have an idea of what they want to do, such as help people or work with animals, but don’t know how to turn that passion into a career. A life coach can help clients work through the options to find a clear path with concrete steps that lead to an attainable goal. A life coach can also help clients make a major career change, such as starting a new business. Life coaches can help clients develop better habits that will make them more successful, acting as an accountability partner. Life coaches also often guide their clients through major transitions in life, such as a career change or other stressful situations that are made easier with guidance from a neutral third party.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
