Emily has been more than just a tutor for me. What I thought would be a temporary situation to prepare for the ACT turned into a 2 year (and continuing) relationship. Emily not only helped me gain entrance to my top school through getting my best grades and an admissions appeal, but she continues to help me keep my grades in college up through regular FaceTime tutoring sessions (sometimes with very little notice). More than anything, Emily is a mentor and has become almost a part of the family. If you want a tutor who will get to know you and your learning style, Emily is the best.
Niquesha is very professional and she value education. Her tutoring style is unique and so children are able to pass there Regeants and State test. I strongly recommend her.
Justin Esposito has been my student in four graduate courses at Northeastern Seminary between 2012 and 2014; he was a superb student, gaining straight A grades in all four courses. This past semester Justin has served as my teaching assistant in one of my graduate courses. He graded multiple assignments (under my guidance) and has done a stellar job in being both fair and rigorous. He has also responded graciously to any student who queried a grade, and all such queries have been adequately resolved. I recommend him very highly.
Ed Roselene is a gem! He’s been everything we hoped for & more! I have zero hesitation in giving him the highest & most enthusiastic of recommendations!
My name is Pat. I am a math instructor at Binghamton University. I have taught Calculus I and Calculus II. Students typically understand the basic concepts of Calculus, that the derivative represents the slope of a tangent line, that a definite integral represents the signed area under a curve, and that the indefinite integral is a differentiable function and it's derivative is the integrand. Performing the calculations requires knowledge of algebra and trigonometry. Apparently, many students do not have the proper foundations in these subjects. It appears that they don't understand Calculus. In reality, they don't understand enough algebra and trigonometry to perform the calculations for Calculus. I decided to start to tutor students in algebra and trigonometry. I got numerous requests to tutor students in geometry. I began preparing students for the regents tests in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry. As I have been a stay-at-home-Dad, I was very involved in my girls' education. I taught them geometry, algebra, and discrete mathematics. They are now captains of their math teams. I also taught them reading to comprehend. In doing so, I became familiar with both the SAT and ACT. I have several test preparation books for both of these standardized tests.
I was contacted right away with a highly skilled educator and have the tutor I want within 24 hours. And the rates are very doable. Love it!
One of the greatest people I've ever met one of the greatest math teachers I've ever learned from she's really patient she took her time
Michael was very knowledgeable and helpful. He offered concise constructive criticism for my paper without being overbearing. I would definitely work with him again and recommend him to others seeking tutoring, editing, or writing services.
Sue was my GRE tutor! She's a remarkable person with solid math foundation and interesting way of expressing her ideas. She's awesome!
Ben Paris is an excellent SAT tutor. In less than 10 hours he helped me improve my overall score by 300 points, from a 1960 to a 2260! He was able to explain solutions clearly and concisely, and identify larger patterns in my test-taking approach. He was able to help me with a wide range of skills, from my approach to critical reading passages to my ability to eliminate wrong answers. He was particularly good at helping me to both address my weakness, and maximize my strengths, in order to achieve my highest potential score.
So far, so good, Very responsive. Had an experienced tutor working with my son within 48 hours. Still early in the process but lessons seem far more geared to his needs and busy schedule than I was able to find elsewhere.
I have been teaching for 18 years and have worked with a variety of students with a range of abilities. I am able to individualize instruction and push people to reach goals they may not have otherwise attempted.

QUICK ANSWER The duties of a tutor include providing students with academic support during assigned hours, developing academic materials and lessons relevant to the coursework, and collaborating with instructors to ensure the lesson materials are appropriate for the grade level or student's skill set. In an academic setting, a tutor may also be responsible for greeting guests at the front desk or answering phones in the tutoring center.

I have 10 years of tutoring experience in basic math, SAT/GRE/GMAT math. Please see my university tutor profile for more information (listed as my website).
It should be a relief - not a chore - to see your math tutor. I am there to help unravel anything confusing and lay things out plain and simple. Every student needs something a little bit different, whether it be a certain metaphor to help with multiplication or a visual to help with matrices. I'll try to find that "aha!" moment with you without too much busywork and just enough practice.
Most of the students I work with are successful. All it takes is a little personal attention to find where a student struggles and a way to help them succeed. Because piano or guitar lessons are one on one the instruction can be tailored directly to the needs and interests of the student. It's so great to see someone who hasn't been successful before or who has struggled with a subject pass an exam or a course.
I have an advantage over other tutors because I am coming straight out of taking all these standardized tests and high school subjects. The material is fresh in my mind, and I know the best way to study for these tests.
