FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly attending classes and trainings to stay up to date with current trends and techniques.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been in love with the beauty industry. While I was in high school I received my New York State License in Cosmetology. After graduation, I attended a private college where I received my Bachelors Degree in Business Management, Marketing and Human Resources. During my four years of college I also worked (almost full time) in the beauty industry and continued to take classes and trainings to keep up to date with trends and techniques. When I graduated from college my love for the beauty industry flourished and brought me to where I am today!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When you hire anyone in the beauty industry, make sure they are a professional. Anyone can go out and purchase makeup, look up "how to" youtube videos and apply makeup, but do you really want just anyone? You want to look for someone with a professional background in the industry. Someone who is licensed by the state and/or has a certificate from a credible makeup academy. (Don't be afraid to ask for these credentials). These credentials show that this individual has invested their personal time (and money) in their education and how to care for their clients in the most professional and effective way. This is their livelihood (not their hobby).
