Sefa and the Ebabil Film team were wonderful to work with leading up to and during our wedding. Sefa was easy to access and communicate with via email, and was reassuring and professional. Josh and Faati were exactly what we wanted at the wedding- they were involved and friendly, but never overbearing or uncomfortable. We couldn't have asked for more. We're very pleased with our experience, and with the photos we've received from them. I would certainly recommend them to friends and family for any event.

We were looking for a videographer that wouldn't be so "intrusive" during our special day. Basically we were asking for the impossible. We wanted our wedding ceremony and reception to be videographed in a great way without the usual spotlights and several cameramen. When we looked deeper into the list of videographers, it turned out that it could be possible to have a great video of your wedding without having tons of lighting and cameras. Lance Wheeler ladies and gentlemen! Not only was Lance fun to talk to on the phone and a pleasure to work with, his videos were exactly what we wanted! His pricing is also very reasonable. Lance will certainly do a great job taping your special day. We highly recommend Lance for "non-intrusive" videography. We didn't even feel him being present!

We could not have asked for a better videographer team to make our wedding day dreams come true. After searching for some time, finding AM2S was such a blessing and we feel so lucky to have found them. Josh and his team at AM2S were absolutely amazing. From start to finish his level of professionalism and attention to detail were unbeatable. Being in front of camera isn't exactly my comfort zone, but Josh made every moment of our day together comfortable, relaxed and just so enjoyable. Josh caught so many precious moments on camera. Most of which we didn't even realize he saw. He truly didn't miss a thing all night and we couldn't be more satfufued with the results. Not only did our wedding party and guests continue to tell us how wonderful and personable Josh was, but our photographer had so many beautiful things to say about him as well. He told us he very much enjoyed working side by side with josh and would love to work with him again. He thanked us for choosing such a wonderful videography team. I would recommend AM2S to anyone looking to have a special keepsake memory of the best day of their lives. A wedding is such an important day and to have a wonderful team by your side makes that day even more memorable. We are so blessed to have had such a beautiful wedding video and to have had such an amazing experience creating it together with AM2S. THANKS GUYS! :)

Tim Devlin did the impossible! He videotaped attendees' birthday wishes at a very special 80th birthday party, edited everything on-site, combined it with birthday video wishes from those who couldn't attend, and showed the entire video that evening as entertainment. It was incredible and no one could believe it was being done all at once! I highly, highly recommend Tim, as his professionalism, expertise and flexibility surpassed all my expectations. He immediately sent DVDs and USB after the event and his price is so reasonable. You will not be disappointed if you hire Tim!! Only note to add would be to ensure venue has what Tim needs to do a great job - our venue's speakers were not good at all, so was audio was not top notch. However, end product was impeccable! Thanks so much for all Tim!!

For my wedding, my brother surprised my husband-to-be and I with a wonderful gift; he hired Geoff and Zach as videographers to film our wedding day. Bright and early the guys arrived, Zach was with myself and Geoff was with my husband as they both started filming us separately preparing for the day. They were with us from start to finish - getting dressed and ready in the morning, at the church capturing the ceremony, with their drone while we were taking our professional pictures until the night ended at our reception. They were everywhere they needed to be but never once were they in the way. The were respectful, professional, discrete and on top of getting extra shots of decor and scenery to add in. I was pleasantly surprised to get the 3 minute trailer of the wedding so quickly after the wedding. They used the exact songs we asked for in both the long and short video and were very meticulous with the edits. I'm sure they had hours and hours of footage to sift through and they found some really amazing moments to highlight. Having them film our wedding was a priceless gift that we can cherish in the years to come (when we get old and don't look as good as we did that special day)! Thank you guys for capturing one of the greatest days of our lives!

Without question, my husband and I are extremely happy that we decided to go with Bharti Productions for our wedding videography. Originally we had searched through a multitude of different videographers but we kept coming back to Bharti Productions for their stellar work. The one thing that we really valued from our experience was that we didn't find the two videographers (Keith and Aidin) as obtrusive during the wedding. Although they were not obtrusive when we received our final video from them we could not have been more delighted; they captured every single moment that we had wanted to be showcased and even captured some amazing moments that we weren't aware even happened! We are extremely happy with the product that we received and we don't regret deciding to go with one of Bharti Production's higher end packages. One of the best feelings that we took away from this experience is that we did not feel like we were being "nickled and dimed" like we were with our photographer. We would highly recommend Bharti Productions to any couple that is looking to have quality videography for their wedding!

Donte and his crew did a music video for me. Overall, the service he provided was great. We filmed my music video in Albany, New York and it didn't take long to do. Donte went out of his way to make sure I was satisfied with my product. He kept great communication between us. Asked for feedback after filming and he gave me a turnover date for 3-5 business days and I received my product in 2 days! I was very impressed! I recommend him!

Keith did an amazing job capturing our wedding day. Since we don't live in the area, I had a few calls with Keith in advance of the day to describe the style footage I was hoping for him to capture. I also emphasized that we'd been reluctant to hire a videographer initially since we didn't want our guests and bridal party to feel as though there was a production crew at the venue. On the day of the wedding Keith was amazing at capturing all the details we were hoping to have on video, without disrupting the flow of the day. He seemed to truly care about ensuring that the content he was gathering matched the look and feel of the video we wanted to create. Additionally, he was so reasonably priced, punctual, and flexible. Truly amazing to work with! Highly recommend! We are so happy with the final product of our wedding video, all thanks to Keith! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErjFNF04lWM

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

      • Package 1: $1,400
        • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
        • Two cameras with audio equipment.
        • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
        • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
      • Package 2: $1,800
        • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
