- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Mobile grooming is a luxury service and is priced higher than your average shop. Services are all inclusive and one on one. We offer only the top products on the market and give each pet our undivided attention. We do not offer discounts on our services
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I have been working with animals since I started doing rescue work as a teenager. I started by working with cats and shaving out matting on abused and neglected animals that my mother would rescue from the shelter. My love for animals brought me to working at a retail pet store just out of high school in 1989. I learned grooming in 1993 and continued working retail while only grooming rescue pets until 2003 when I started working as a grooming apprentice. By 2010 I purchased my own brand new mobile unit and was proud to own my own business. Most of my closest friends have 4 legs and a tail. I wouldn't have it any other way.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work? The most important thing about hiring anyone working with animals is to trust your pets reaction to humans. Unless you have a pet that is extremely nervous around people, your pet should never shy away or cower in fear. Some pets just don't like to be groomed and will always try to hide, but if they flinch or cower as if they're afraid...there's probably a reason for it. Ask people in the area if they know of the groomer or walker's reputation. Has anyone had a negative experience? And this might seem silly, but if they have a photo album on a FB page or a website, look at the pictures. You can see when an animal is relaxed and comfortable vs an animal that isn't.
