Ed was recommended to me as a voice teacher by a good friend and fellow musician. I took voice lessons with Ed weekly for eight months until he moved from Virginia to Washington state. We will soon resume lessons using Skype. From the first lesson, I experienced immediate improvement with my singing. Ed is extremely knowledgeable and experienced regarding music in general, and using the voice as a musical instrument in particular. I feel very fortunate to have found him, and because of his easygoing nature, we have become good friends along the way. Ed's calm and comfortable personality makes the instructional process a very positive experience, and his depth of knowledge and experience regarding singing and performing in general will impress, if not amaze you. One of the projects we undertook as teacher and student was to prepare me for a vocal competition. I chose a song, and we dissected it, phrase by phrase, during the lessons leading up to the competition. No detail was left to chance including important aspects of the performance of the song, beyond just the singing. I had a great a great deal of confidence and a very enjoyable experience performing in the competition as a result. Ed obviously loves his work as an instructor because he is a lover of music, and it comes through in every interaction. I am very excited to resume my voice lessons with Ed using Skype. The only aspect of the entire experience that I would like to see changed or done differently would be if he decided to move back to Virginia and be our neighbor again!

Melinda contacted me right away to arrange voice lessons via email. We had a telephone conversation to discuss my needs and how she could use her skills to help me achieve my goals. She was direct and professional in answering my questions. I have selected Melinda as a voice teacher and have had 2 lessons so far. She's very knowledgeable and easy to work with. This is my first experience with voice lessons and also with using an internet service to find a vendor and I am quite pleased with the result.

I am a beginner beginner piano player who approached the idea of lessons because of my passion for songwriting. Austin's Studio has been wonderful, teaching me chords, scales, and how to understand sounds so I can start messing around and making songs even after the first lesson. I would describe our lessons as "modified jam sessions" where we talk theory and progressions. He also has been sososo kind as to lend me an electric piano while I look for an affordable piano to purchase. I would describe Austin's style of teaching as approachable, knowledgable & adaptable.

I have two daughters who have studied with Amy for several years now. Piano and voice lessons, along with summer Glee Camp participation. Not only are they advancing in skill and technique, but they are also growing as artists. Amy has a positive, encouraging teaching style and offers many performing opportunities throughout the year. We are blessed to have Amy in our community, her talent and dedication to furthering the artistic endeavors of her students is inspirational.

I am a "hobby" singer who just started lessons with Rebecca to see what lessons would do for me. Just ONE lesson and the things she taught me make my voice twice as powerful as it before and much more resonant. Plus she is very personable and flexible. Makes you feel at ease right away. Wonderful teacher. She rocks!

About

About

I am an experienced, supportive voice and piano teacher in the Eastwood area of Syracuse, and I offer lessons for all ages, styles and interests. I love to help people discover the joy of making music and developing their skills. I enjoy watching my students gain confidence that can improve other aspects of their lives. I have worked with students with a wide variety of needs/interests, including special needs and professionals. I hold a Master of Music in Voice Performance and teaching certifications in music, speech-language and classroom N-Grade 6. For young children, I offer duo piano/voice lessons for both the child and a parent at the same price as a single student. When a parent and young child practice the same pieces together, it gives an added incentive for the child to enjoy "us" time while practicing. The parent can then reinforce the written lesson at home each day. The result is great progress and quality time spent together with your child. I offer customized CDs, made either during or between lessons at not extra charge. Listening to the lesson music also counts as practice time. By using both eyes and ears, time riding in a car can be used to memorize music. For further information, please feel free to contact me for a free half-hour initial lesson.

About

Music is fun, so why should music lessons be boring? And if music is for everyone, why are lessons so expensive? My private practice functions under the belief that learning music should be enjoyable and inexpensive, so I do my best to make lessons engaging and budget friendly. My main expertise is in flute, but I also love to teach beginner piano and voice. I offer a motivational award system for little pianists to help make practicing more fun. To tell you about my background, I have a BA in English with a minor in music from SUNY Fredonia (4.0 GPA), and I've previously worked as a private school music teacher in Corning, NY.
