Michael showed up early and got the job done quickly. He was very friendly and helpful. Moved all of my heavey furniture to a new apartment within an hour. If I need help moving in the future you can bet I'll be giving him a call.

I needed to have furniture moved to a storage unit and took a chance with S&D Movers. Communication with them was excellent via email, and they arrived right on time. The two men were pleasant, knowledgeable, and fun. I would recommend them highly -- and I told the people at the storage unit to recommend them as well.

Joel was excellent to work with. I highly recommend him. He and his crew were hired to move furniture from one floor to the next in my rental property. I was nervous having someone in the home while I was not there, living out of state, and he proved he was incredibly trustworthy. He talked with my husband on the phone while he was on site to take care of all we hired him to do. I am very impressed and would call him again with another job.

Small move across town- needed help with heavy furniture- about 10 pieces, some fragile. Elephant Movers offered the best price, and even though it only took an hour, I was happy to pay the two hour minimum fee. These two guys went to work immediately, got everything safely loaded and protected, and then unloaded with the same efficiency. Nothing was too heavy, nothing was damaged. They clearly know what they're doing. Very professional and courteous. No complaints! (Especially after receiving another quote for 4 men for 4 hours plus travel time to and from my home!)

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.
