She fit me into her schedule and transformed my home in 5 hours! She is by far the most thourough cleaners I have ever had in my home. I never felt I needed a regular cleaner before but after seeing my home sparkle and smelling tge fresh sent of her cleaners I asked her to come back every other week to work her magic. Things seem yo run so much smoother around the house now that we have her coming. I came to thumbtack today just to share my great experience with this cleaning service!

Cia and I decided to go for an hourly wage instead of a flat fee, which was what I prefer when I’m working with a new cleaning person. Then I can get a better sense of how much money gets me how much work. If someone whips through my house and does an amazing job cleaning and they’re being paid hourly, but have managed to pack 10 hours of work into 2 hours - then I will always pay based on how much work was done and what the quality of work is like. If I’m paying $20 an hour and Cia cleans my house quickly and efficiently in 2 hours and makes it look like she’s been working on me house for 10 hours, I would have paid her $200 for doing such a fantastic job! I think Cia is a friendly woman, easy to get along with, so there are no negatives when it comes to her professional attitude. The only thing that I ran into a problem with her was the length of time it took to clean one room. She spent 7 hours cleaning my kitchen, and while some parts were messy, the kitchen itself is not very large at all. It’s a galley style kitchen that probably measures a touch over 200sq ft (at most). She did pay close attention to detail and completed some tasks off of the list I provided her, but at the end of the day, 7 hours later the kitchen wasn’t completely cleaned. Simple things like wiping down the fronts of the fridge and dishwasher wasn’t done, cleaning the stove top and cleaning the stove hood also weren’t finished. And there were a few other things like wiping down the kitchen door and cleaning the windows that weren’t done, or if the windows were done, they were covered in streaks. To me, to spend 7 hours in one room and get paid $140 for that one room - it wasn’t worth the money since everything didn’t get finished. I would definitely give Cia another chance in the future, should the need arrive and perhaps communicate a little more about what I expect in terms of how quickly and thoroughly I want the house cleaned.

Cindy Contreras responded in a very timely manner. When I read more about what they offer, I decided to have them steam clean my kitchen/morning room tile and grout. They were able to fit me into their schedule and did a fantastic job. One of the gentlemen was scrubbing the grout with a brush and the other was using the steam cleaner. I also had them seal the grout when they were done. The price was reasonable and they worked very hard to make sure it was as clean as possible. I've never had a company do such a great job on this floor. I will definitely have them return in the future.

Ken came to my house to do a deep cleaning and floor grout. He was professional and his price was very competitive. I'm satisfied with his level of workmanship. I've hired A2Z for monthly cleanings. Would definitely recommend to others.

We were moving in and needed someone to come last-minute to help us clean the house (we knew it would take all of us to get it ready before the movers came and there were boxes everywhere). Stephanie was willing to work with us on the time that we needed her here and even waited for us (time which we later compensated her for) since we were running late from Syracuse. She cleaned the windows/screens, high beans, vacuumed, and even got the dust on the fans and window ledges (my husband is allergic to dust). She was here for about two hours - wish she could've stayed longer, but we had movers coming and she had another job to go to. If there had been more time, we would've asked her to get the windows from the outside as well - we ended up doing it ourselves later, because after the insides of the windows/screens were clean we realized most of the dust/dirt was on the outside. We requested organic/enviro-friendly cleaners and she only used those in our home. She also gave us her card for future cleans! Great second Thumbtack experience!

I am a meticulous organizer and cleaner and have references. I also am in college and a single mother. I was trained in cleaning skills by one of the former best cleaning services in Northern New Jersey. If I have the honor to come in your home and clean, I would treat it as my own.

I'm a very hard worker won't let ya down I get the job done

I clean most facets of both commercial and residential properties. Personally, it gives me much satisfaction to see a house or other property that is neat, clean and organized because I worked on it.

I'm a full-time nursing student, and I am looking for a couple of cleaning jobs. I've been cleaning houses on and off for 20 years. I currently have three other clients that I've been cleaning for over 10 years.

We do housecleaning services and clean out attics, basements and garages. We do weekly, biweekly, or 3- to 4-week service.

okay tryin to get more jobs going that would be nice

I think a clean and organized home makes a person feels good, and eases their piece of mind. Everything has its place, and a nice, clean, or organized space helps ease anxiety, and helps a person feel good or proud of their space.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
