The event was a holiday party for over 60 children, ages newborn to 8 years old (plus a few older siblings) and their parents. Paul was the featured performance (besides Santa/presents) and performed for an hour of the two hour event. From an event planner perspective, he was outstanding--he arrived exactly on time, set up and packed up entirely on his own, and was flexible on his exact performance start time and waited for "the nod" to start. Throughout most of the performance, the kids were very engaged, screaming out responses to his questions/requests and laughing. I will definitely include him in my "rotation" of performers and would consider him for corporate events as well. Below is feedback directly from the parents:
Some of the jokes seemed a bit corny, but my daughter was raving about how much fun he was when we got home. So I would declare that a success.
Started a little slow, but got much better.
I think the magician was good and age appropriate for the majority of the kids. Judging by the laughter of the audience, he had them entertained.
I thought the magician was great. His act was very polished; he totally connected with the kids, especially the younger ones; on the ride home my girls discussed their theories on how he did each of the tricks. :-) My girls were engaged during the entire performance. I'm sure the kids have no appreciation for the skill required on the unicycle, but I sure did.
His performance was excellent. It was just that my kids are too young (0 and 2), but I believe it's very attractive for older kids. Next year? Sure.
I am sure you may get from others the same sort of feedback as it was discussed amongst a few of us as we left last night, I don't believe he was age appropriate. All his jokes were not understood by the children, his dry sense of humor really wasn't comprehended by the little ones. (father of 2 and 4 year olds)
They really liked the magician, and I'm sure would enjoy seeing him again.
The twins were more interested in the magician this year, but that's probably because they're 5 and have a better attention span than in years past.
The kids enjoyed the Magician, he was entertaining for the adults too.
