As I was launching a website for my new business, I was advised to include a headshot on my "About" page. The very idea of this initiated a series of internal earthquakes in the form of anxiety attacks. There is something about being in front of a camera that makes me want to run for the hills screaming. Reluctantly I searched for a local photographer and chose Missy Ray Photography, as her prices were within my budget and she was nearby. I am so happy that I chose Missy! Her engaging personality put me immediately at ease. As we chatted and laughed, I forgot about the camera in front of me and the entire shoot felt like a comfortable get-together with an old friend. Missy was able to capture some great shots (and some very funny ones of me cracking up at one of her silly jokes!), and I had my pick of several nice poses for the website. Incidentally, I just cut my hair, and will be calling her again for another session... :) ... and I would recommend her services to anyone who is looking for a professional, endearing and talented photographer.

Photography has been a passion of mine for years and I'm so excited to move on to this new phase of my career.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I just did a professional headshot for a new business owner. She was looking for a black and white photo of herself for her website. After we got the perfect shot and started to post process edit it, she found that the colors I chose for her background really enhanced her skin tone and wardrobe. She ended up keeping the color photo for her website.
