Introduction: My work is about taking care of my clients and listening to their needs. We love DeRue!!Words cannot describe how lucky we feel that he was our DJ. Right from the start, he was professional and reliable. To start, his timing was spot on. He was an excellent MC for the introductions and announcements throughout the night. As far as the music, he killed it! He kept the dance floor PACKED all night. The way he included our story in the wedding was unique. He carefully interviewed us and his thoroughness showed in every detail of the reception. He made the music so personal that even our family members felt like it was a perfect playlist. We had more than one guest come up to us and tell us the music was the best that theyve heard at a wedding. He did such a good job with the Greek and Albanian songs, and including our traditions into the wedding. We knew we didnt t have to worry about anything with him running the show. His outfits are hilarious and everybody was amazed about his ability to provide a show and play music at the same time. He also set up a dance floor lighting which was a great addition. If you are looking for a fun, classy, amazing time with the best music, then choose Celebrations with DeRue! You will not regret it! He was a pleasure to work with!

There are no words to express DeRue and his ability to create magic and love between people. We hired DeRue for our wedding and from the first time we met, it was apparent that we were in not only the right hands, but the BEST hands. He went above and beyond to make our day special: from creating a mash-up dance for us, to ensuring our guests had an amazing time, to working with other vendors, to introducing himself to our bridal party before our special day, to the most awesome personalized introductions, and even to creating a special message to my parents during our parents dances. To say he knows how to have a good time is an understatement. If you want love, passion, and fun at your wedding, he IS IT. While my husband and I have a strong relationship full of love, DeRue EXEMPLIFIED that during our reception constantly reminding us of the love that surrounded us. I had seen DeRue in many different venues and knew when it came time to plan our wedding reception that I wanted him. I had seen some bad MCs in other's events and did not want that for us (so embarrassing) or our guests! We planned our reception date around DeRue's availability. There was no second choice, there was only DeRue. DeRue's energy is contagious. He knows how to use lighting and music to set ambiance and he knows how to read and work the crowd. In addition to the time he actually worked our event he invested many hours in us, getting to know us and what we wanted for our reception. He actually listens with the intent to understand...you don't meet very many people like that anymore and combined with his lively personality that is what makes him stand out from all other MCs. We trusted DeRue, and his vast experience, enough to defer certain decisions to him regarding venue and set-up. He was a big help to us because neither of us had ever had a wedding reception. If it wasn't for him we would have been so lost over certain things. He went beyond the "normal" services of a DJ and we appreciated that!

We have used Celebrations by DeRue for many occasions. Most recently was for my son's wedding. DeRue is a fantastic entertainer with his music appropriate costumes. His enthusiasm is second to none! There is no function that I would not use or recommend DeRue!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It really isn't but it does require some details of your wants,needs, and specifics. I also have package adds after an initial DJ package quote.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am involved with many wedding vendors, including DJs, in my area. I am a member of other DJ organizations that continue to provide educational opportunities that I actively participate and learn from. I have attended educational seminars and conventions to further the knowledge of my craft. My evolution as a service provider is unending and I continue to strive for excellence by educating myself.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved music and people. I also had a background in theater. I also like to enjoy a good time and dancing! I saw an add looking for DJs over 20 years ago and went to an open interview. To spare you the frivolous details, I began working for a local company. After a few years I realized my talent and potential and started my own business.
