- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
EDIT TO ADD: Relating to the recently implemented Congestion Pricing, we regret to inform our new and loyal customers below 60th St., that we will be adding the Congestion Pricing Toll to the price of any work done within that area. Please blame the city! I am always fair with my pricing. My goal is not just to make money, but to make sure my customers are always leaving happy, and satisfied with not only the price, but the quality of the work done. We don't require an immediate deposit, and you won't need to pay until my first day on the job. My rate is $75/hr for handyman category jobs, but I do have a $100 minimum for jobs up to 1 hr. Any work completed within the first hour will cost $100, 2hrs = $150, 3 hrs = $225, etc. I also do not charge for partial hours. Due to Thumbtack recently revamping it's user requirements for Pros, for INSTANT BOOK jobs, the Handyman Rate is now $100/hr, not including hardware, with a $200 (2hour) minimum. If you only have 1 hours worth of work we must include the thumbtack fee, which can be up to $60. We regret to inform you that to remain sustainable on this app under their current requirements, we must pass some of these new costs along to the customer. We guarantee you will be getting the best value for you dollar when choosing M.D.S. Home Repair. Prices vary for work in other categories. There is a $100 cancellation fee for handyman jobs cancelled or rescheduled within 24 hours of project start time. The cancellation fee for jobs in other categories is equal to the service fee listed or cost of the job. At this time we are also adjusting our price to include the Thumbtack fee. We are happy to discuss this with you at the time of booking, please ask as it is different for each job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'm always proactive, and make sure that all the details are hammered out before we proceed with the project, and that you know the price before we begin. I put a big emphasis on transparency. I also take custom woodworking projects upon request, made to the specification of the customer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a mason by trade, and was part of the union, and started out building bridges. Over the 20 years of my experience, I have made a point if I did not know something, I go out of my way to learn it to do it correctly.
