After my wife's favorite masseuse moved she hadn't been able to find one that worked for her. Jennifer worked diligently on areas that she needed addressed. She said that she knew immediately that Jennifer knew what she was doing and that the massage was actually effective for her needs. Also to note that Jennifer squeezed us in on Mother's Day to go above and beyond for my request...thanks again Jennifer.

Michelle provided me with a perfect therapeutic massage. I had cronic pain that i had for years and i was skeptical that massage can help. Right after i left the massage room i could tell the difference. Now two weeks post i still feel flexible than ever. Thank you Michelle.

Sarah is an extremely professional physical therapist who also provides medical massage, cupping, and a variety of therapies based on an initial assessment. This is way more medically based than your average relaxation massage, and that's a great thing. You can expect to have your issues resolved when you visit Sarah.

I recently went to Rachel because my current massage practitioner is on maternity leave. Rachel is fantastic and wonderful at her job. I was very impressed and felt instantly better after my massage. I would highly recommend her and if my prior massage practitioner does not return then I found someone new.

Tori Crews is an amazing person inside and out! She's very professional and great at what she does, she's very polite and flexible and will go out her way to accommodate any way she can. During my pregnancy I was still fortunate to still receive massages. She made it so comfortable and relaxing and catered to whatever I needed at that time. Whether it was me running a few minutes behind, or her extra care through pillows placed on my back or side during the massage, to the peaceful music playing in the background. I've been going to her now for over a year now and she will always be the one I look to whenever I need massages done, or even words of encouragement! Great person wonderful friend! I recommend her anytime and any day of the year!

Complete Care with Kimberly

In short, Kimberly is the only massage therapist I need and the first name I would give as a recommendation to anyone. I found Kimberly after trying several different massage therapists, and I've been going to her regularly ever since. She is far and away the best I've had the pleasure of working with, and has genuinely helped me in my fitness and athletic goals. She finds issues I was not consciously aware of, and I feel relief every time I see her. She has a very personalized approach to her work, and she always remembers what my goals are and the issues I'm working through (e.g. deadlifting specific muscle groups). She is very detail oriented and very personable. Kimberly is truly a gem. I followed her from her last place of employment once she decided to go independent, and I'd follow her wherever she decides to take her talents. As a bit of a side note, when visiting my family for the holidays, my aunt started going on about this fantastic therapist she found -- how she really helped her and was the best she had worked with. After talking with her a bit, it turns out she was talking about Kimberly, whom I had just discovered myself, indepedently. Too funny.

Jeaneen Littlejohn takes the time to ask about concerns, health, any possible injuries. She offers different categories of massage therapy, and inquires as to what you look to achieve via on-going massage therapy. The care and well being for her client is evident. The room is comfortable, clean, and soothing. She did not assume, but asked about sound preferences or silence. Jeaneen Littlejohn is an intuitive masseuse “gem”. Don’t miss out on an experience.

    About

“My wife and I look forward to Katie's services on a regular basis. We have enjoyed massages from many venues, but can say Katie provides some of the most exceptional massotherapy services we have experienced. We appreciate Katie's professional approach, and trust her to come into our home. She is attentive to our specific requested style of massage, and is always flexible to work on areas that may be in need. I would highly recommend Katie's services.” Sean Wenger- Amherst, OH

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is Thai massage?

Thai massage, also called Thai yoga massage, combines acupressure and assisted yoga postures. Thai massage is based on the flow of energy through the body and focuses on energy lines called “sen.” It doesn’t use oils or lotions and, instead of rubbing muscles, the massage therapist compresses, pulls, stretches and rocks the recipient’s body to promote the flow of energy through these sen. In this form of massage therapy, practitioners use their hands, knees, legs and feet to apply deep muscle compression and stretch the body. It’s often performed on a mat on the floor instead of on a massage table. Like most forms of massage, Thai massage is used to relieve stress, improve range of motion and enhance flexibility. Some people also use Thai massage to address a range of health issues, including:

    • Relieving tension headaches
    • Decreasing back pain
    • Reducing joint stiffness and pain
    • Stimulating circulation and lymphatic drainage
    • Boosting energy

Because a traditional Thai massage session covers all of the muscles in your body, it typically lasts 90 minutes to 120 minutes.

How much do you tip a massage therapist?

All forms of massage therapy, from Thai massage to Swedish massage to deep tissue massage, are similar to other spa or hospitality services. So it’s appropriate to tip a massage therapist the standard hospitality rate of 15 percent to 20 percent of the cost of the session. For example, the national average cost for a deep tissue massage is $70-$90, so expect to tip $12-$18. Of course, you can always tip more or less depending on your experience, especially if you’ve opted for extra services. For example, expect to tip more for a couple’s hot stone massage session that includes aromatherapy. Also, if you’re paying with a gift certificate or coupon, or purchasing a discounted multi-session package, make sure to calculate your tip based on the full price of the massage.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
