FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing structure is relatively simple. I charge approximately $50.00 dollars per hour. I do my best to estimate the amount of time necessary to complete a project while also keeping in mind the ultimate scope of the project as well. If the project is for a multi-national client and it requires broad use, the cost would be higher than a smaller company in need something requiring less use and on a more localized basis. The stages are initial personal meeting whenever possible. I then try to brainstorm with the client and make the client invested in the conceptual portion of the process. I then go to my "cave" and produce a vast quantity of concept sketches and rough digital "sketches". Then the client gets chance to respond and often assist in the development/refinement process. I then move on the the finish stage of the project from the creative end. Once the client is happy with the creative portion I will analyze what will be need to produce the image in it final state (animation, advertising, social media materials, t-shirts etc.). Finally, before I begin a project I am upfront about pricing. Pricing does not increase without the approval of the client and usually means there are additions to a given project. I do not like surprises with regards to price and my clients do not either.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Recently earned a 4.0 GPA in interdisciplinary visual art. I've learned many new programs and approaches to the visual arts on a whole and about the power of the image.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I created my first cartoon character at age 4. He was named Utenant. I thought that was how lieutenant was spelled (my spelling has since improved). I never looked back since.
