"It's not painting," my dad used to say, "it's getting ready to paint." 90% of paint work is surface preparation. No paint can hold up any better than what's under it. All old loose paint *must* be removed before new paint is applied. This is the fourth time I've had a house painted, and I've done my share of exterior painting myself. I've lived through the prep work, and I know how tedious and time-consuming and not fun all that scraping and sanding is. Donny worked and worked and worked through August heat and in direct sun to get *every last bit* of loose paint knocked off before he moved on to sanding and washing and priming and calking, and finally to painting. He always called me out at the end of the day to look over what he'd gotten done. I know good work when I see it, and I have *never* seen work this good. Also, Donny talked the job over with me before and during the job to make sure he gave me what I wanted. I added a few additional tasks as the job progressed, which he was very willing to accommodate. He was always careful to minimize the disruption the job caused and to respect our property. Final cleanup left the place cleaner than it was when he started. The job's done now. The house has never looked better; the underlying wood is protected from the elements, and this job will last for years. That's what you're paying for in the end. Donny won't be your low bidder, but he will give you what you pay him for. Hire him. You'll be glad you did.
