Introduction: With over 30 years teaching private lessons, I have learned that each student has their own unique way of learning. Where most teachers in the industry simply show up and go through the motions, I do my homework before each lesson so our time is maximized. Many of my students have gone on to study at some of the best music schools in the country. Not only do I have a long successful history of teaching, I have had an equally successful career as a musician. I have shared the stage with some of the biggest stars in music and have been a part of many studio recordings.

Garin is an excellent instructor and also very patient. My saxophone play is vastly improved because of his instruction. He has improved my technical skill and knowledge of the instrument at the same time as he has improved my ability to play music by myself and with both small and large groups. My 13 year old has been taking saxophone lessons with Garin for almost two years. Garin has not only helped my son through those first challenging steps of mastering basic repertoire and fundamental theory, but has introduced him to concepts of jazz musicianship and improvisation. My son has autism and often struggles with connecting with people and controlling his emotions. Garin has not only tailored his teaching approach to my son’s needs; he has developed a true bond with my son; a rarity.
