About this pro
Amy is on-point! She knows where technology is heading and how to lay the foundation to get you there. I was able to focus on my business and leave the website up to Hip Gloss. You can trust this service! Our project was a small business website which offers a few products for sale. We used WordPress and I love it! Training was provided and 30 days of free tech support. I highly recommend this service.Apr 22, 2014Amy K.'s reply
It is always our pleasure! Thank you for your feedback.
I am a web designer but use the HipGlossPro.com hosting service. I was sick of my sites going down or waiting days for support so I moved all of my domains to Hip Gloss Pro. I am so pleased! Help desk tickets are always answered within an hour and I have unlimited space for a low price. I frequently refer others to this great service. Thank!Jan 28, 2013Amy K.'s reply

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Of course! At Hip Gloss we view continuing education as a priority. Each day, we spend an hour or more developing our knowledge ranging from the newest technology to trends and statistic research. We also focus heavily on honing the skills that we already have to improve our service. Each team member seeks opportunities annually and are challenged to complete CE courses that they feel will benefit them most. Common CE may include: certifications in development languages, social media, business, marketing, and project management.
- What types of customers have you worked with?Redesigns of old websites that not only need a new look but a new framework to grow their business, brand new site creation that entail blog engine/eCommerce/or CMS, custom applications & software development, Intranet development, CRM customizations, conversions such as PNG to html/php/magento/wordpress.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?At Hip Gloss, we constantly ask ourselves what would we want/need if hiring a web development team so that we can improve our services. Of course we study our competitors and as we notice their short-comings we address those in our own process. With that said, if you are shopping around with an RFP and have proposals pouring in, watch carefully for the following: #1 - A detailed proposal. Details should include very specific details of what it is they envision that you need and how they plan to achieve that goal. #2 - Clear cost/time estimate. Never settle for a number without the details. Request to see a breakdown of all activities with the associated cost/time estimate associated. #3 - a la carte options. Usually a company provides a proposal that will achieve your needs but they include a lot of other options you did not think of or do not want. This can be a technique to increase the bill or depending on the recommendations, solid suggestions to improve your site in ways you may not have imagined. Requests these options "a la carte". You should be able to pick and choose which ones you want and which ones you don't. #4 - Credentials. Ask not only about their portfolio but their certifications, experience, team, and most importantly are they passionate? You can tell quickly when speaking to a design agency in person if they are in love with what they do or are just paying the bills. You need PASSION. Passion leads to excellent customer service, honesty, and integrity. After your website launches, you will most likely continue the relationship with your development team. Knowing your business is always one of their priorities will give you great peace of mind.
