FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Our company was founded in 1999 by a college student who enjoyed programming and writing, and as a child hoped to eventually publish a magazine. The Internet gave him the ability to merge these interests into a single profession.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The majority of our work involves the design and development of new websites, although we get a lot of repeat business in the form of ongoing enhancements to existing websites. Although we prefer to enable clients to manage their website content in-house (using content management tools that we provide), we're happy to assist with minor updates and other incidental requests. In addition, we host the majority of our clients' websites -- as well as sites created by other designers -- and we help a number of organizations drive traffic to their sites through content development and search engine optimization.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Your website's functionality and content are every bit as important to your success as its design -- if not more so. Keep this in mind throughout the process of hiring a designer and beyond. Our most successful clients tend to focus on creating a useful site with extensive amounts of helpful information for their audience. Also, don't get hung up on comparing designers based on price, especially hourly rates. Find out as much as you can about each designer's process, and what features and services you'll be getting (or not getting) from each. At the same time, it's okay to be suspicious of extremely low or high quotes -- both can be a warning sign!
