FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It is important to give a thorough consultation to make sure I understand what it is my clients want and how to achieve that for them. Typically for weddings we do a trial. Trials are where we meet for the first time, chat and go over styles/looks you've chosen putting them to the test. You may love a photo you've found online, now is the time to see how it looks on you. They typically last 1.5hrs during which we try out different looks until we find THE perfect one. Once we've found it, photos are taken as a reference which i bring with me on the wedding day. The trial ensures that we've perfected the look and ironed out the details in advance. This is crucial to making sure everything runs smoothly on your wedding day...no surprises. .It also gives me a chance to work with your hair, see how it behaves and which items in my bag of tricks i'll need to make it respond the way we want it to. I suggest scheduling it when you have another event (night out, wedding shower etc) that way you get the most value for your money. Don't worry, if you want your hairstyle to stay a secret, i'll take it down , make a few simple adjustments for a different style. You can bring with you a couple "inspiration" photos of styles you are considering as well as a few of your dress Any accessories (broches, feathers, clips, etc) you are planning on incorporating into your style. If you are considering extensions, definitely bring them with you as they affect how the style will look. Bringing all these items help not only with deciding on placement in the hairstyle, but give you an idea of the overall look and how it comes together. For makeup trials, no need to bring anything unless you have a product that you can't live without.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am very dedicated to learning new things from other artists and hairstylists by regularly attending hair and make up classes! In addition to taking classes by some of the best in the industry and traveling to shows I love learning new things by reading magazines, books, watching educational dvds and staying up to date with the latest trends. I've attended many hands on workshops training one on one under top artists a few of them being... Martin parsons, Heather Chapman, celebrity stylist alexandra butler, Scott Barnes and Francesco Galasso hair and makeup artists to Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez. My motto is to be the best you have to train under the best!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing hair and make up at a very young age. When I was 16 years old I started doing hair and make up professionally in cosmetology school as well as training under and apprenticing under a celebrity make up artist and interning at a salon. I than went onto creating my business hairandmakeupcleveland where I lead and train a team of 9 artists and travel on location for events like weddings, photo shoots and fashion shows. I also work at a spa in Tremont where I am a colorist, haircut specialist, stylist and makeup artist.
