Paul is very passionate about music and teaching. He has awesome system to teach his students and tries to teach in a fun way. The reasons that I dont give 4-5 stars are that he is not really flexible about the class that he does not accept reschedule no matter what your reason is. He is very strict on his time given to the students but sometimes does not prepare much. For example, we could spend 10 mins just searching what song we want to play or what tools i need to buy out of 30 min class. It is relatively often that he would forget what we talked about last time or what I should learn. The class is a little bit casual that I am not sure how much I could learn in a class. Maybe he just has too many students to remember each.

Didn't use any services. They told thumbtack I had accepted their services when I hadn't. This would prevent others from seeing my request.

    Paul H.'s reply

Hello Clark, I in fact did not say you had hired me. One of my problems is that I forget to mark new students as having hired me. No one ever becomes one of my students until they first call me and set up an appointment. I see them first for an interview and then we decide if they want to study music with me. Now you should contact Thumbtack and correct the one star review I have on my records that I do not deserve.

About this pro

My background and time spent as a music teacher allow me to help students at all levels, from first timers to advanced. With beginners, one of the first goals is to play something easy and fun. Music has three parts, melody, harmony and rhythm. Most folks get a kick out of playing something recognizable, the melody. I often write and record the harmony and rhythm parts, so we have everything necessary to make music. My students at this time range in age from 6 to 86. Age doesn't matter to me.

    Q & A

    • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most, but not all of my students do 30 minutes lessons, once a week. I only teach on the first 28 days of any month. So, this means my students have the potential for 4 lessons per month. The 4, half hour lessons spent with me are only part of what they are paying for as a teacher. I write arrangements, record backgrounds, speak with students by phone, text and e-mails, and am available most of the time for help regarding whatever we are working toward.
    • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Due to the fact that I accept all students who range in age, currently from 4 to 87, I can say without doubt. There is no typical process for working with a new customer. I have never had a typical process, and never will. All students are different and have different needs and hopes for learning.
    • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a fully active musician. Here is what this means. There are three parts to my life as a musician. #1, I study music. #2 I teach music & #3 I perform music.
Coverage Area for Worthington Music is about 30+ miles of Columbus, OH.
