Introduction: My background and time spent as a music teacher allow me to help students at all levels, from first timers to advanced. With beginners, one of the first goals is to play something easy and fun. We specialize in piano, violin, guitar, and voice. Music has three parts, melody, harmony and rhythm. Most folks get a kick out of playing something recognizable, the melody. I often write and record the harmony and rhythm parts, so we have everything necessary to make music. My students at this time range in age from 6 to 86. Age doesn't matter to me.

Paul's knowledge of music, the instruments he teaches, and playing techniques enables him to customize his instruction to the individual needs and skills of his students. I studied with Paul years ago and am studying with him once again. He has grown as a musician and teacher over time and I am benefiting from that growth. Paul is a patient and supportive instructor who understands that different people progress at different rates. When I encounter difficulties with a piece I am trying to play, he can spot the reason why and show me how to overcome the obstacle. His positive attitude and encouragement give me the confidence to keeping practicing and working to improve. I would recommend him to anyone of any age who wants to learn their instrument and play as well as they can, whether for hire or for their personal enjoyment.

I've known Paul for over 20 years. I was his student for 3-4 years back in the early 2000's. I became friends with him through my classical guitar lessons & we have been close ever since. I fell in love with his philosophy for teaching. It is so different (and simple). He asked me what I want to play, then proceeded to take me to that goal on the quickest path possible. He did't tell me I have to do this or that; play scales; learn elementary stuff and then advance from there. He just said "what would you like to learn to do?" Paul's gift is not in teaching people music theory or an instrument... his real and obvious gift is in his ability to "teach people how to learn". Then he simply guides you on your path of study. Paul, without doubt, is "one of a kind"
