Introduction: I have been performing, studying, and teaching music in acoustic American roots styles for decades, with a focus on early blues and old-time string band music. For the timebeing I a teaching remotely via Zoom or other video chat. My specialties are on finger-style guitar, harmonica, and mandolin. I also try to integrate a knowledge of music theory with the traditional styles to give the student the "keys to the kingdom" as far as understanding the structure underlying it all, and being better able to play 'by ear' and improvise. I can also teach the basics on piano, ukulele, and clarinet.
