FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into the journalism business because I wanted to change the world. I miss my work in journalism every day, really, but working in a fast-paced, news world has changed me. I made sacrifices that I have to live with now. Moving around a lot, working all the time, working nights. I've made efforts to find a more stable life and schedule, even though I still work a lot of hours, I can now set my hours and work around some semblance of a social life. I still find design challenging and exciting and I love learning new things, new technology and meeting new people.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Everyone thinks they have a simple site. But I have learned over the years, there is no such thing as a simple site. Every site and every client has specific needs and some challenge to rise to. I pride myself on finding solutions to every issue that comes up. Most people do have relatively simple things that need to be done, but I enjoy showing them how easily it will be to expand and add things to their site when they want to do so.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am always learning and the internet and technology are always changing so quickly. I recently had a client that struggled to do her own site and even had a template she wanted to use. But she could not figure out how to get what she needed. She hired me to do the work for her and once I figured out what she wanted, I was able to figure it out pretty quickly and set it up for her, so she could have exactly what she wanted and show her how to do it. It only took me a couple of days. :)
